U.S Presidential Election

My question is simply why there was a need to bring in Hillary at any mention of Trump being odd. She's not the President, she's not running for President, so what's the point?

Pretty obviously it was this line:
The US is being governed by a group of nutcases and to be honest it’s pretty scary.
The alternative government was Hilary.

But Hilary isn't the President, Trump is. I really don't get this whole hang it on Hilary even after all these years. It's just deflecting rather than addressing the issue or point.

On the whole "Crooked Hilary" Campaign, you need to watch The Great Hack on Netflix where Cambridge Analytica detail how they created that soundbite and targeted a massive propaganda campaign at those who were susceptible to a propaganda campaign.

Indonesia are also claiming Gods blessing for the lack of COVID-19 in Indonesia. With 265m people right on our doorstep, we better hope god keeps blessing Indonesia.

And me since I'm in Jakarta right now

its straight from the Trump playbook. He was blaiming to poor democrats debate for the stock market falling, despite the fact the stock market closed before the debate began.
truth means nothing to him. or obviously to those that vote for him.

You don't get to lob grenades in a politics thread without some being thrown back.
This encapsulates your problem. I was making a comment about Trump and his cronies and the nutcases around him and you make it about republican v Democrat. What Hilary may or may not have been like as a President is completely irrelevant to a comment about religious loonies in the Whitehouse

I thought this was a thread about American politics. My mistake.

It is your mistake. Not every discussion about politics is one party versus another.
This assumption that if you are against one party you must be for the other or that you can’t criticise or praise all parties or individuals in parties at different times is just garbage.
If I hate Trump it doesn’t mean I think Hilary is great.
I hate Trump ...fullstop. I believe he is a disgusting human being. It’s a comment on an American who is a politician, therefore it is about US politics.

Eh, I think you're being a tad precious, and argumentative for the sake of it. Yes, I get that you lot hate Trump. TDS etc.

Next!

Golly, it's not like Snopes to put a leftist spin on these things.

You lot would've had Hilary in the big chair.
Hey L2, "they" infer nothing at all, ever, do they. Great tactic for a discussion isnt it. Always defaulting to "what do you mean".

I agree Trump is a narcissistic idiot.

But Hilary was just offering more of the same which wasn't going to excite anyone.

Not much of a choice and not convinced there will be much of a choice this time around either.

Reckon it's a pretty easy choice. Four more years of The Donald with half the country off its nut despite benefitting from Trump largesse, or Crazy Bernard dismantling everything brick by brick so global domination is ceded to China while the US can never afford to get off fossil fuels.

Of course, Bernie wants to dismantle everything, you're just making it up.

We know what Trump is like, he definitely makes up whatever suits at the time.

No, I'm dead serious. He's a fan of failed socialist regimes like Cuba and Nicaragua. Possibly even Venezuela.

Yeah Trump is a little loose with the facts, but that's his style, it's deliberate. He gets you to check and you discover that, well, it's not entirely correct, but there's some truth in what he's saying. The meaning gets across. It's political genius.

Makes me wonder who the vocal protesting forces are in our society and why so many detest them when i read replies like this.
In my area i will deduce that the protesting and disruptive folk are not the National and Liberal voters, nor are they likely to be Labor voters, in fact most of them dont even live in the area but they definately do have a say in how we live and what actions we take in relation to many things but mainly typical "greenie" issues.
There is no dalliance.
How so? How does a green influence your local govt when you have been wise enough not to elect any?

Trump's doing a lot of dismantling himself.

Trump is not a 'little loose with the facts'. he blatantly lies and relies on enough people being so blinded by politics not to see/care.

one thing he has done well is to discredit any media that dares to question him, and again he supporters eat it up.
