Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

It's not just kicking that's a weakness. It's decision making, handballing, footy IQ, vision and kicking that are weaknesses.

I agree with this. He is certainly an enigma. He can turn the easiest of handballls into a disaster but then goes and does what he did yesterday kicking that goal from the boundary line. If he had better decision-making he'd possibly be the best small man in the comp. Needs to slow that brain down a bit when he gets hold of the ball.

assuming you mean small forward, and assuming small means sub 6 foot, and assuming Toby Greene and Michael Walters are mids,

I have George as the 2nd best small forward in the game, behind only Charlie Cameron.

If I wanted to go unconditional,

I'd say George is the 4th best small forward in the world.

a 2 time premiership player

who cant handball, kick, make decisions, see or think?

David Wojinski?

I dunno

Open your eyes and watch the GF.
He creates
He is 90% the reason why we are so good.
Manic play is Richmond
Manic play was created on the back of players like Castagna Rioli and Bulter

Yes I meant small forward sorry, non-key. I don't have in my top 15-20 forwards purely because he wastes so many chances with poor disposal and decision-making. Thus my comment he could have been nbr 1 if he was better at that part of his game as he has some very unique features.

George does my head in with his wastefulness in front of the sticks but he is a very important component of our forward set up.

If he tidied up his play and converted alot better he'd be held in much higher regard across all facets of the AFL.

Was a chance for a Normie but kicked himself out of it.

May not be popular but I like your post. He is important to the way we play, but also an incredibly frustrating player, because of his below par decision making and skills. I suppose we have to go with the coach embrace the imperfection. Personally I'd rather a skilled player that is also athletic and I reckon we have a few youngsters that will put pressure on his position in time (not yet necessarily). Butler and Ellis became expendable, Castagna could go the same way.
Butler, Lloyd, Towner, Ellis, all gone but Georgie still there. Manic attack and manic forward defence, Dusty, Sausage n Shai are there for the silk. Georgie just does the WTF lookout I'm being busy.

Castagna is experimental jazz. A lot of it made no sense and critics were divided but was ultimately considered an important period in the history of Jazz music. And let’s not forget that if he kicked a little straighter he would have torn the grand final to shreds on his own.

I'd pay $1000 to see George on vocals with The Necks.

Id almost certainly be disappointed, but it almost certainly wouldn't be in George

Well yeah. That's a big if with him though.

Imagine the caning George would have got if he had played in the dark years. He would have made the whipping boy hall of fame.

No crowd No Worries for Castagnafield.
3 goals.
One from 45 absolutely brilliant in the first half.
The maggots dont give him Nothing. He was hit in the face, play on and He was held without the ball again play on.
