Welcome to the Tigers - Daniel Rioli

Dropped him.
We are playing a man down.
Totally useless.
I lost count how many times he was caught with the ball

6 tackles, will not be dropped

Tackling is the one thing he is good at ,

Lost all sense and ability of what to do in attack , It’s quite strange , I understand his role is defence , but surely they don’t say don’t get the ball

The Dan butler release is looking like a massive mistake , our forward line could really do with him now

Seems to lack awareness, a couple of time he turned staright into a GWS tackler.

There was the one where he ran straight into Davis while trying to evade the first tackler - but don’t recall that being a clanger on his part
Dont remember the other but he certainly isn’t as sharp as he’s shown previously

The one on the wing, when he used his arm try to "Dusty' the tackler only to get saved by the boundary line.
Should've been holding the ball.

I'm sure he's doing a ton of work chasing pressuring and covering space but he's lost his oomph when he's around the ball and in packs. No energy no agility no vibrancy no intensity. Few years back he'd pounce and bounce around in packs one grabbing the ball, laying tackles 2nd third efforts. Now he's like a deer in headlights and just freezes in packs, fumbles and only gives one effort. Not sure what's going on.

A shame or a scandal he was and is on twice the money than we were playing Butler. I know who I would much prefer running around in a tiger jumper at the moment.

I’ll defend him a bit here.

Caught twice, but caught the opposition at least twice. People remember the frustration of getting caught more easily than the other acts. This means how people feel is inaccurate.

He’s probably just a little bit off than a long way off.

Are teams hanging back and waiting for our smalls (2nd or 3rd handball in a chain) before committing? All of our smalls seem to have little space, not just Rioli.

Until 1 minute to go to half time he had only 1 disposal. Next 2 quick handballs were to team mates under pressure. I really can't see how a player of Rioli's calibre can be missing like that unless it's attitude (maybe along with confidence). Only he would know but I'm not sure he really wants to be there atm and if not needs to come clean with the club.

written on his wrist tape friday night
Just play
Chase
Aerial

Probably what the coaches are telling him? Strikes me that he might need some more specific instructions like, for starters
Get ball
Create
Take territory
