At 24 going on 25 and 23 games only you can't blame the guy. Will miss the guy who hands down wins the best Mo in Movember each year.

Under normal circumstances Oleg was a keeper. But these aren't normal times.

I still think we're jettisoning the right ones and keeping the right ones too. Rather Baker and Broad than Oleg. Rather Stack too - although the risk is higher - so will the reward be.

In the short term we have Houli, Vlaus, Short, Baker, Stack, Egg and perhaps one of Cumberland and Ralpho to slot into the mid / small sized back position. We're doing ok.

Sad to see Oleg leave. I really liked some of his work this year and seems to be a great team man. But I get it and hope he has a really good career up there.

Would a swap of our pick 56 and Oleg for their pick 33 get it done? Seems about right to me.

I know I’m on my own here , however when we first start kicking the Sherrin around it’s not long after we start playing to win a Premiership , Ellis last year left simply for coin no other reason , I understand setting himself up for life , however to me if your lucky enough to win a couple of flags, you owe the club not the other way . LEGO and Higgins, leaving for opportunity, *smile* off 22 blokes get a senior gig out of 40 od each week , Boys you are incredibly lucky to be involved in the clear best club in the land and your walking for “ opportunity “ and more coin, how about you back yourself in to make the grade, both boys have played senior footy in a premiership year ....yes I know it’s a business , nah Premierships are forever.

At the end of the day good luck to both of those fine young men , and though I think Jack will be 100 gamer , I think just like Ellis we won’t miss either on the field at all as club men we probably will , however our culture will remain the standard others measure culture on.

Yeah I'd rather keep Oleg than Naish.
This. Oleg has more current tools and more upside. Doubt Naish will make it, looks like another Lennon/Ellis type to me.

I would be pushing for a 2nd pick or straight swap for Will Brodie

Gold Coast head of football was on SEN today and said they have nothing between their 1st and 2nd round picks and their next pick 72 so it will most likely be for a future pick.

We have plenty of young mids waiting for a chance. What we don't have is available list spots. I highly doubt we accept a player for him.

I'd even go as far and say Pick 33 for Pick 56 and Markov doesn't work too well for us, being as we don't have list spots for those 2 2nds at the moment. Sure we may be able to trade up with say the Dogs and that may be the best scenario.

Eg. We do the above and then trade 19,32 and 33 for Pick 12 and the Dogs 2nd next year.

Then trade Higgins for the Saints 2nd next year and a swap of 2021 1sts.

Would leave us with Pick 12 (which will probably end up around Pick 18) and gives us a great hand for 2021. Saints 1st, our 2nd, Saints 2nd, Dogs 2nd and our 3rd.

Next year will probably be a bumper draft with it already looking good and then some overagers that aren't drafted in the 2020 draft falling into next year.

This would be the perfect scenario for us. We would then have to give up our 4th this year for MRJ which would be perfect, as long as he isn't big on before Pick 55 there will be no deficit on our picks next year.

Or we get dudded again? They already got Brando on the cheap as an extra throw-in compensation for losing Lynch. Saints are going to do the same with Higgins as they did with Butler.

One major aim of other 17 clubs would be to reduce the quality of our depth which has proven crucial to our success over last two years especially. Such generosity of ours' could come back to haunt us. Being decent and honorable is not how the AFL works - see Geelol, Colonwood - survival of the fittest.

For me, Markov could become a top-10 HBF over next few years. You can't learn or train express speed. Who knows whether Stack or Naish will even last that long in AFL.

losing lloyd, ellis, butler, conca, townsend didn't bother me. losing higgins also doesn't.

for some reason losing markov bothers me. he's not even a premiership player. maybe I could see great things with him. dunno.

I love the way Markov plays. You will get an honest trier who will play his guts out and works to the best of his ability. It is bitter sweet at Tigerland atm. Personally I would have loved to see him with a premiership medal. For the moment just have too many up and comers and in a sense it is not fair to Oleg's career. If he does leave , I wish him the very best . :clap2

Thought he was as good as gone Grand Final Night to be honest when Jayden Short dedicated his medal and the win to him.

I wish him all the very best.

In truth he was lucky to get this year ahead of Menadue, and was no certainty to keep his place until his run of games where he showed that run and spark he showed in his debut season.

The 3rd Premiership meant Broad wasn't going anywhere with 3 medals his price went up, and the Tigers are keeping Broad for less than what he'd have commanded at the Suns.

Suns have pulled the right reign targeting Markov.

Its not a bad time for him to be going to the Suns if they develop this side and keep it together with their young guns for a couple more years they'll be playing finals.

Oleg gets a chance to stake his claim for a 22 spot.

Games more cash, and some security along with the chance to establish a career at the Suns, her had to take it.

Good luck Oleg and go well except against the Tigers.

They probably won't even use their 33rd pick this year, on this deal they'd be getting Lego for nothing

Developing players and then losing them sucks.

But if they are not getting games they will look for opportunities.

Reduced list sizes make it even worse.

I'd like to keep Markov and others.

You get crap for dropping players to preserve them for later in the season but I reckon we need to be rotating players like Markov into the side for maybe 10 games a year as replacements for those who will retire soon. Markov in for Houli for 10 games a year makes sense and preserves Houli who I would think will only have 1 more year given his calf issues.

Deserves the opportunity to play regular football. Can’t begrudge him wanting to play now.

Looked very capable this year. Good poaching by the Suns.

Get a pick in next years draft for him.
