It’s known that males under 25 in particular make stupid short term decisions. Look at car insurance. And if I look in the mirror I’m glad social media didn’t exist back then.

I’m thinking we are backing stack in given higgins out and Markov let go with houlhi near end with soft tissue injuries. Stack has all the AFL traits needed except getting his decision making right. It will be up to him - and he’ll be hopefully doing it in a club environment and not via Zoom but he has the evidence of 2019 to call on to know what is posssible.

I think Stacky was well prepared for this season as he looked fit and in good touch in the preseason games. Took a speccy but i can't remember who it was against. Looked like he was going to repeat his 2019 season. Then covid came along and he came back very unfit.
The notion that Syd came into preseason fit is incorrect.

One ingredient to getting better next year.

If I was a betting man, I'd put a pineapple on him staying on rails from here.

One of my favourite 26 players.

Yep, I’d just like to think (hope) that was a wake up call. Combined with, hopefully, a normal season next year and not in a hub he’ll get back to his best in ‘21.

Would just love to see Syd come back from this better than ever.

The kid can seriously play the game.

Don’t know if this’ll work:

Counted 7 chin ups and 2 arm curls in that 10 sec promo, (which may be just what it is?), more energy expended on tick tok.
Ok that's the sceptic in me I will eagerly await his return to the training track in a couple of weeks time to see for myself.

Seriously, hope he does well. If he gets back to last years form that will be a massive bonus for us.

This guy has the gears and the skills and the swag.

On top of his game and focused is easily a best 18 player no doubt.

Hopefully Shai and Marlion can help to get him back on the straight and narrow.

Stackie should be stapled to Marlion so he can learn and learn from someone who knows and who he should have respect for and listen to.

Loved his year in 2019, along with Tommy Lynch, Grub, and Dion he was one of the players that actually kept the Tigers head above water in that first half of the season the higher his profile the better he played until he burnt out a bit as expected then got the injury.

He plays his best when he has a point to prove by the look of it.

Lets hope he hits 2021 with that attitude he attacked 2019 with, if he does then look out along with expected improvement from Daniel and a full season from Sheds the Tigers could well go to another level on the back of improvement in those two lads alone.

Having him playing well next year with our other younger players, will place us in a good position. Then we go and get the KPP we lack. We need the role players ready prior our catch.

I would agree with you Caesar, especially as you had first hand glances., and Stackie never looked focussed or fit on field in any game he played not even round 1 against the Blues.

From memory there were a couple of younger Tigers who didn't return in as impressive as shape as expected from memory and one of them if my memory serves me correctly was Noah Balta, yet he wound up and came good at the right time.

Had a couple of poor practice games did Noah and presented not in best condition at one point, hence started the year in the reserves after being touted to start in KPD prior.

Proof of that was Broady going to the wing to open a spot for him, but that lasted 2 pre season games and Balta was out Broady back to defence after playing some good footy on the wing.

Noah in the end has a Premiership medal and Stacky for all his highlights still does not have one.

Hopefully he gets re calibrated and plays with a point to prove and earns himself one.

The Tigers have one possibly 2 shots left before the list starts to denegrate via retirements.

Yep Noah admitted he did not come back in ideal condition pre-season but then knuckled down and smashed it in the lockdown period, the rest is history.

Unfortunately, for whatever reason, Stack didn’t get the message, and Noah did.

Yep and thats why 1 has a premiership medal and the other doesn't. Hopefully thats burning inside Stacky so that it drives him forward next year. Everything that went against him this year was down to choices he made, if he can improve those decisions on training standards etc then hopefully next year we see Stacky from his 1st year and hopefully even better.

Physically the 2020 version of Sydney was like another person compared with that who exploded onto the scene in 2019.
It was actually quite shocking & concerning how far he'd regressed. Severe case of 2nd year blues.
I understand some didn't handle the adversity of the virus complicating things as well as others but also it was a test of character.

Can he rediscover that version?
Not going to be easy is my guess.
Obviously like everyone I hope he gets back to that but this point I'll be pleasantly surprised if it happens.

Always a worry when after one season Puma made him the poster boy for AFL ahead of DeGoey. A bit of Icarus in Stacky, flew too high and likely ignored the warnings.
he should copy what Bolton did last off season.
