Hardwick was sure up against halfway through his first year 23.
‘Worse then Fitzroy’
Or like a Dimma at ............................................................................................... Oh wait, this is #lolnorf we're talking about.Yep, he’s gunna be up against it from the start. North are at rock bottom so aren’t going to be winning too many games which means he,ll have a poor win/loss record which will put the pressure on. Like Neeld at Melbourne, Bolton at Carlton.
Well I suppose three of those young blokes have experience at coaching losing teams n getting sacked, at least that will stand them in good stead for future coaching jobs.He won't last 3 years. Maybe 4 because it is North Melbourne.
Not sure using the old codger as a guide to selecting a coach is a good idea.
Leppa, Voss, Carcella or Knights would've been my top candidates
That was my point. Seven games into 2010. 0-7, 49.5%.Hardwick was sure up against halfway through his first year 23.
‘Worse then Fitzroy’
WIthout knowing much about him, it is probably a good appt, in that he will help sell the calm measured approach. I dont think there will be the expectation he will take them to a premiership, but will be seen to be planning the transition to success. as long he can sell the narrative so to speak.Good on Noble. Unlikely to have got a job under any other circumstance but gee, it is going to be a tough gig for him and the AFL not known for giving coaches second chances if you aren't successful the first time.
It's a long way back from worst ever.We were at lowest in 2010. Hardwick was set at zero.
Record | Number of coaches | Hardwick % | Hardwick rank among worst |

0-3 | 64 | 47.9 | 7th |
0-4 | 44 | 50.8 | 3rd |
0-5 | 31 | 53.5 | 7th |
0-6 | 27 | 49.1 | 2nd |
0-7 | 21 | 49.5 | 1st |
0-8 | 18 | 53.9 | 4th |
0-9 | 13 | 56.2 | 5th |
1-9 | 36 | 61.6 | 17th |
You reckon he,LL be another Dimma?and Hardwick at Richmond.
John Todd coached my old team Swan Districts. Was great in the early 80's. An unhinged lunatic by the time they let him in charge of the Eagles.Oldest coaches on debut

Fagan is making a decent fist of it, but it's a young man's game.
With a minimum spend in the salary cap there will be quite a few guys being paid well overs if they only have 37. Logic says they go for 44, but do they have enough picks? And what type will they get in the very late rounds anyway? What a *smile* storm. So I wonder what Norths philosophy will be after dumping 13 players? With list sizes to be between 37-44 do they go the lesser 37 thinking “well we know we,re not going to be great in the next few seasons so no point loading up only to cull and extra 7 we,ll keep it to a minimum” or do they say “we know we,re not going to be great in the next few seasons so let’s load up with 44 and see as many players as we can and sort the wheat from the chaff”?
We were in a similar position with the exodus at the end of 2009. Martin/Griffiths/Astbury/Dea/Taylor/Webberley/Nason in the ND, with Nahas and Browne upgraded. Then six rookies added (including the delisted Polak) who never amounted to much. With a minimum spend in the salary cap there will be quite a few guys being paid well overs if they only have 37. One big difference is that #lolnorf’s dysfunctional board won’t back Noble, the way ours backed Hardwick. We were in a similar position with the exodus at the end of 2009. They're not going to solve their list problems in one year unless they're psychic. Yeah, big trouble. This is the closest thing to a Hardwick-style rebuild since Hardwick.
You'd think they've received some sort of guarantee from the AFL as to their survival. Plenty of big bumps in the road even in Hardwick's success story. One big difference is that #lolnorf’s dysfunctional board won’t back Noble, the way ours backed Hardwick.

Not at all. But you linked coaches who were "going to be up against it from the start" with failures like Neeld and Bolton. You reckon he,LL be another Dimma?
