This is the nub of the matter. The reality is it has been very easy to criticise Trump from day 1 ( even before) because to anyone who knows anything about human beings he is clearly an unhinged person suffering from a narcissistic personality disorder. This fact has little to do with politics because a President being a republican or democrat or anything else is irrelevant if he is as loony as Donald. It’s just plain dangerous and we are seeing some of the results now.
It’s also why his supporters think that the press is biased. They report negative stuff because Trump gives them so much to be negative about.
I find it really hard to understand why anyone, no matter what their political persuasion is, could support a person in such an important world position who is so obviously a loony tune.

Oh that was so easy to find, just went back to Nov. 4th and read a few pages and there it was. Don't really get your second point... did I make a snide comment about you not showing your face here? Very likely true. I make no apology.

Anyway, *smile* Trump. His place in history is assured and it's not going to be flattering.

How do pardons work over there ? I thought to be pardoned for something, someone would have to have been charged with a crime first. He hasn’t been charged with any federal crimes yet. Is it a get out of jail free card for any crimes he might be charged with in future?

No, but they can be pardoned for any federal crimes that may turn up - Ford granted Nixon a blanket pardon like this. Dodgy but they did it. Some people think he could pardon himself like this, never been done but so what, it's Trump. One option is to resign and get Pence to pardon him - Pence seems to be an unreliable ally for Trump now though. Will be interesting to see if Trump pardons his kids in advance too.

His real problem is state level crimes - rape, tax evasion, fraud. This applies to the Trump children as well - they could get caught up in tax/fraud cases.

Given inauguration is less than 2 weeks away I see little point in removing Trump using the 25th amendment or impeachment.

There is the question of whether removing Trump would preclude him from standing again, then again, why stop him standing again? I would think the best outcome for the Dems would be if Trump nominates again, loses the primaries, and then stands anyway as an independent or creates his own party.

As for voter fraud, it really is only a proportion, the nutty proportion, of Trump's supporters who believe that. There were likely a very small number of dead people voting and the like, always happens and tends to balance out anyway. The biggest election frauds in the USA are the gerrymandering of the House boundaries and voter disenfranchisement which are both mainly perpetrated by the Republicans.

Lee, you have supported Trump from the start and right to the bitter end, you reap what you sow. Being quoted is very different to being trolled, your words, live with them.

Hmm, you were quoted using the quote feature on this forum. Are you alleging that this site's quote function is like the voting machines in the USA? Or is that just another one of the conspiracy theories going around?

Sleepy Joe won't crash the bus, even if he wanted to there will be too many people around him stopping anything silly. Less of a narcissist than your hero, might actually take advice from those who know better.

Herbert Hoover is an interesting one.
Presided when the stock market collapse and great depression hit.
Achieved enormously outside of the presidency and clearly a capable intelligent operator. Set up a number of large national relief agencies.
Seems to have not been a good political manager and made some bad calls on the depression.

Let’s hear it for the aunts and uncles of recent memory. If Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, has her way they are destined to be termed a “parent’s sibling”.

On New Year’s Day, Pelosi introduced a resolution into the house setting out rules for the 117th congress. Section two includes changes to the standing rules. During the next two years, new gender-inclusive language will outlaw such terms as “father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt” and so on.

Thanks ant. I always thought Nixon was charged first, then ford pardoned him. Had to read up on that.
