Good to see zero tolerance for racially abusive spectators, but not sure why the game had to stop for eight minutes while the boys in blue parked their doughnuts and waddled out into the crowd to find the offenders. Tell one of the security slugs "it was that bloke" and get on with the game.

Green showed he can hit a long ball but he's not a typically swashbuckling all-rounder. He's a bit mechanical but a very correct batsman with a batsman's temperament and patience. He'll need to get that front pad out of the way but he'll correct that.

He is a genuine all-rounder though. 140+kph.

How can anyone possibly get riled up enough at test cricket to shout any sort of taunting/sledging, let alone racist ones.

They were also ejected yesterday for the same thing, boggles the mind that they felt they could come back and do it a 2nd time.

Chanel 7 reporting the gentlemen in matching Hawaiian Shirts (how does that conversation go? Alpha friend: 'hey fellas, how about we go to Lowes and get 6 *smile* Hawaiian shirts and wear them to the cricket'? Other 5 mates: 'yeah, great idea. How does your brain come up with this stuff Macca?' )

were simply welcoming the Indian cricketers to Sydney.

'All these boys were doing is a bit of sledging': Witnesses say no racist tone to sledging

Our reporters at the ground have filed a fresh update to this story, which has all the latest on the allegations of abuse by crowd members.

This quote from Indian spectator Rishi Aryan makes for particularly interesting reading:

"All these boys were doing is a bit of sledging of the player on the outfield. First it was Bumrah then they had a sledge against Siraj. They kept calling him Shiraz and all that crap," Aryan told The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.

"Next thing you know they said: ‘Welcome to Sydney, Siraj’ and then he got the *smile*. That was literally it. Then he walked off.

"I don’t know why [the police kicked the men out]. Next thing you know you see police everywhere. It didn’t make sense. It was confusing."

Another spectator with his family believed there was nothing racist said. He also corroborated Mr Aryan’s statement that the phrase "Welcome to Sydney, Siraj" was used.

Strange post. You went back and dug something up when I’m clearly talking about a racial context?

And farts are funny.
Why is calling Siraj “Shiraz” racist but calling Aarts “Farts” is funny?

Yeah, Siraj needs a thicker skin.

Mind you, middle-aged men taunting professional sportsmen need to grow up.
