Much has been said of Stacky and his failings but I don’t believe that the Club is free of mistake in this case.
The speed with which the penalty was imposed by both RFC and the AFL effectively denied him any defence.
The 10 week suspension was disproportionate to any penalty previously or since imposed and the severity was triggered not by his own actions, but by the earlier actions of someone who was not a contracted player.
The amount of money he was also required to pay the Club as a further penalty, was also directed with out regard to his personal circumstances and ability to pay.
He has been put through the ringer and has became a victim unlike any other.
If he gets up and plays for us in our next grand final, many will seek to share his success.
And possibly rightly so, but IMO if he does manage it that success will reflect only on his own courage and on his own effort.
