Outside Dusty, Cotchy, Dion, sheds,

$hai is an elite mid,

who is spending large tracts of games In other locations.

I think Pickett is a mid.

Stackman is a mid

I think Dow looks a prospect.

Stack definitely not a mid. And questionable beyond the year. Pickett, valued wing, doesn’t win ball.

Dow, absolutely has a future. Martyn, looked slow but deserves future consideration, RCD down the order but I‘m not giving up. Still, feel like we haven’t jagged a Starting mid via the draft for some time.

Yeah a bit annoying that Dow is injured. He'd be in the team now, reckon he could play as a small forward too, so could be playing off the HFF into the middle right now. Not sure if Martyn could play a similar role.

We have loaded up on this draft so that’s contributing given we would otherwise have Markov, Higgins and a 1st rounder available.

Yeah if Saints finish outside the 8 then we might have 3 picks in the top 25 and 5 in the top 40 if GC fall away without a ruck. Great position to be in running into this draft.

I have no doubt that Bakes could be a very good midfielder, he never fumbles the ball and has great vision. Finding a replacement for him is the hard part, would be good if Hugo or Mansell could.

I have no doubt we will go hard for either Kelly or Merrett. My money is on Kelly being a Tiger next year.

No Nankervis, Cotchin and Lambert will do that.

Questions need to be asked about why we don't have a better 2nd ruck on our list. Some teams have 3 ffs.
We have three good rucks, Nanks, Soldo and CCJ with Samson waiting in the wings. CCJ available now and sold injure for most of the year so I would expect us to start thinking of two rucks from Thursday

I like CCJ and Samson, but neither are proven at AFL level. And Soldo may not play this season.

Weird post to quote from nearly 2 years ago.

I have the solution. At the end of the year, we get Merrett or Kelly as a free agent. (No chance the Bont.) Trade one of this year's first-rounders for Tom Green and next year's for Noah Anderson, or vice-versa. Use remaining first-rounder to draft The Next Jack Riewoldt.

Simples.

Hocking would block all those trades.

It appeared pre-season that Shai would be starting mid but appeared to do little of it on Friday.
Agree we need a starting mid in this draft.

Would help if we actually played our midfielders in the midfield , playing Shai so much forward the last few weeks is bizarre..
Also Ross attended 6 centre bounces but 15 on the wing! Shai only 9 , 1 in the first half....

Shai is forward because our other small forwards have been Dire this year apart from the odd flash of Castagnafield Kaos.
