Welcome to the Tigers Marlion Pickett!

Saints without any recognised ruck so a little perspective required.... he was awesome when it hit the ground though. That shunt from the ground! Always been a fan but I just got a bit more love for our Marlion.

Love playing 4 midfielders vs 3.
I think at one stage we had Martin, Cotchin, Edwards and Pickett in the middle.

Marlion is more effective than most 2nd rucks, e.g. Chol.

CCJ could shoulder some of the load as well soon, but it’s great to have that 4th midfielder happening again.

Monster game. How good is his vertical leap!?

I still think CCJ rucks with Nank until soldo gets back, but we have a couple of aces up our sleeve in Marlion and Balta if we need a spark.

25 games. 25. 29y 3m old. Has the build and tank to play well into 30s.That 100g mark may be possible.

Great game. Even Dimma said we found something we didn't know with him in the ruck,

Well done Marlion! What a great game. Always love his defensive game and his tackling and closing speed are phenomenal. On the contrary always been confused by his kicking and why it isn’t better. He looks to be a great kick and his action is so fluent but he misses the mark more than you think he should. But that goal showed just how good his kicking can be. He drilled that at least 60 metres!

Tonight he showed why he belongs.

He is a far better distance kick than short hit up kick.

I was there and couldn't believe Marlion was in the ruck. Geez he has a leap! I figured he might ruck a little around the ground, then he was there at the centre bounce.

Can't see it being used all that often as big rucks would just beat him hands down given how tall they are these days. But that was some revelation, he was great.

His ruck work reminded me of Darryl White, who played his debut game in the ruck, and would pinch hit throughout his career. What a game, hes a real everywhere man. And what a goal.

He’s perfect in that role, he’s so frighteningly tough and agile. Once he’s done intimidating the other ruckman he becomes a ferocious extractor. I think we’ll see a lot of him in the ruck. It has the added benefit of not messing with our defensive structure as when we pull balata in.

Ok didn’t see that coming.

But wow seriously this bloke has got some serious tricks.

The bomb from 50, the contested ruckwork, and then the follow up once the balll hit the deck.

One hell of an impressive game.

Brutal game. You don’t appreciate his work without the footy unless you see him live at the game. Just works. And loves to hurt the opposition.

I missed one of his ruck contests initially. Just came in and saw him on the ground dishing out a handball. Thought he was just playing midfield. Didn’t know he’d just gone up in the ruck contest. Phenomenal!

I also believe he created a goal, when hill pooped his pants when he saw marlion was about to tackle him. Can't remember when in the game it was, but thought wow, he must have some presence on the footy field
