If you want a good laugh go to the Cats Big Footy board other matches thread.

They are saying we are kissed on the *smile* by the umps and duck for frees and 50's and our forward wouldn't kick any goals if not for the Umps..........

I'm deadly serious ........................

Lauaghable can you believe it.... I heard Geelong was the Ice Capital of Vic now I believe I've seen the evidence to back that up.
lol anything above the nipples was high for the Saints

They also got Butlers goal from a 10m kick inside 50 that was paid as a mark. He was about to be poleaxed by 2 Tiges so wouldn't have kicked it if they has correctly called play on.

I can only think of 1 contentious one in our F50, the Aarts one in the 3rd quarter seemed quite soft from where I was.

WOW wee that was huge

Saints were more than OK to half time which adds more merit to the win

the way they went about it both the pressure , the maintained pressure & discipline and the joy they get out of playing
it puts us supporters in a very priviledged position

Wonder how the Swans would have copped with that defence structure and pressure ?

Funny it was clear watching the Swans game our defence was standing too far back and the short kicks sliced it apart. Only surprise was that we didn't adjust during the game. Two weeks later and we have made the adjustment and the tiger pressure is back.

But the media nuffies thought we were gone, despite going down by a kick to a top 4 team on their home deck.

Suspect there are a fair few richmond haters who are feeling glum this morning.

It does my head in. They increase the time after a goal from 30 seconds (which was already too long) to 50 seconds and then leak out to the sycophants in the media that the quarters are too long.

This win won't mean much if we cannot back it up against the pretenders next week
Yer, we all loved this Tiger performance; but since I have started thinking, just how much have the Aints dropped off since one good year? They were awful in the 2nd half last night and really quit; had no way back.

And then I got reminded that the Bummers beat them by 75pts a couple of weeks back too. (Has Ratten's message waned already; thought he was a good choice for Moorabbin?).

Magnificent performance but perhaps the opposition was pretty pathetic. Are Godeez and the Dogs the major challengers this year? It's going to be interesting.

Lonie for the saints is the new Selwood. Always ducking playing for the too high free kick.
Yer Selwood is dubbed Duckwood for good reason but at least he is prepared to go in for the contested ball and has copped plenty of hits for his courage over his career.
But Lonie has always been a stager. I reckon he's probably received about 40% of his career possessions and goals from ducking and diving.

Our guys know this is exactly what to expect from him and really despise it. You see it every time we play him. Cotch in particular has bad memories of being penalised for tackling this weasel fairly but he goes down like a collapsed parachute and he and other players often rough him up for it afterwards, or tackle him harder at any opportunity. Trouble is, Lonie struggles to retain a place in his team, so is desperate for any goals he can scramble. So keeps doing it while umps reward it.

I have got little doubt imagining the nature of what they are saying to him too.

Ratten is a good coach but the Saints haven't showed up this year. This time last year they were playing fast, skilful footy but they've lost their mojo.
Similar to the Dees in 2019 after making finals in 2018, just thought they would naturally progress, and believed the hype.

Butler has been in poor form this year. First good game was WC last week.
Meant to reply last night but got too late. Yes, agree, but it was Butler who actually got them going against WC last week. Sure, he was pretty ordinary last night but so were most of his team, and we all know SFs rely so much on F50 entries and their KPFs bringing the ball to ground.

I think you need to imagine Butler playing for us last night. I think he would have had a feast because of his speed and hard running both ways, tackling, opportunism and smarts around goals. He is quite deadly with half a chance.

I'd still argue he is at least as good if not a better player than Aarts. But the thing that worked at the Tigers was the combo of the 3 amigos; each complimented the other with different skills and attributes.

Anyway, I'm letting it go. But remember, Butts never wanted to leave and still has good mates at PRO. Whereas, Higgins wanted out; he seemed to cop a bit more attention from our boys last night. Not a surprise after all the club did in support of him and his very difficult issues. But maybe a case of 'Reap what you sow.'

Kornes saying biggest story is how bad saints. Then in response to Saint caller whinging about saints fixture he says Tigers are looked after by AFL and have been for years. Cannot leave it alone.
Yeah, been looked after amazingly well by the AFL - been hammered by the umps every week and on the bottom of the freek kick counts for 5 yrs.....

Conveniently forgets how the Handbaggers get 10 games at the Cattery every year and only need to win 3 on the road to finish top 4.

FLOG.

They do have some injuries but I reckon they don't have a plan B. That fast footy is all they have

Butler is a good example. He thrives with that type of footy because he can get out the back and use his speed and struggles otherwise
