Changes against Bulldogs

I gather many on here didn’t watch the VFL either on livestream or live .

I actually watched the livestream.

Didn't really take a lot from it.

I thought Chol was OK given the conditions didn't suit him, but think he needs to show more at VFL level first unless we are really desperate.

I watched and it was very depressing.......can’t remember any Tiger highlights. It appeared that Melbourne were dominant everywhere.

No Tigers seemed to be knocking on the door of senior selection.
Still, I would like to see CCJ and RCD promoted, as they have shown promise in other games.

Will Martin probably deserves another go. The Port game was a tough initiation for him.

I think we are missing Fly’s coaching and wisdom in the VFL.

Would we have the most three name players in the AFL ?

Callum Coleman Jones;
Riley Collier Dawkins;
Derek Egglomesse Smith;
Hugo Ralphsmith (I’m including him);
Redford P. Reds

Gotta be some sort of record ?

I think Mabior Pendelbury would be perfect this week.

I also reckon hes a great sub option.

sub for me is about versatility and X factor, which is why ive been advocating stackman too.

Mabior is a capable footballer who is disproportionately harshly judged because of his 1. potential and 2. laconic personal style.

where is at right now is a capable, role playing, versatile depth player

he can, and has done the freakish. he took a pack mark 3 deep on Saturday that would make Aaron Naughton look like Buddy Franklin. then he slotted the goal from a tricky spot with a drop punt, like he was putting on his ugg boots.

we need to roll some die to win this week. I honestly don't think we will beat the dogs with vanilla.

and Mabs is about as far as you can get from vanilla.

this is the week where Dimma says

'ok fellas there is a time and a place to put a pillow under the doona, sneak out the window and get some contraband tits and kebabs. and this is the time and the place. right here, right now. get it done by whatever means. get. it. done'

Out: dusty, lambo, aarts

In: (from) MRJ, Ross, Mabior, CJ, stack (note the scarcity of vanilla)

we are going to beat Footscray. probably comfortable.

I agree however the option would be to move Picket to centre square and give Naish an opportunity on the wing. I think anyone playing midfield is on a hiding to nothing this weekend
Cotchin, Bolton, Edwards, Baker, Graham, Pickett, Ross is more than enough to match it with them.

No way Chol. Absolutely no way. Has done zero in the VFL and is a weak footballer full stop.

No way.
He has come to Aust as an infant, from a background in Sth Sudan, in which a civil war was being fought and where he had lost his father.
Sport was for fun and so for himself and his family, so very different to life in the AFL, (where footy is actually life and death).
He is not a weak footballer, but he certainly has had his chances and has already stuffed up the opening to have been selected in last years GF.
I think he is one of our most talented and the wide open expanses on an MCG wing maybe his go.

if we are to make it to this years GF he will be part of that team.

In. Lowering the eyes into the forward line.
Out. Bombing it on the tall forwards heads.

Yeah that's fine, but when he's being assessed at the end of the year, all of that will mean jack sh**t.

Right now his career is on the line. He is lazy, he barely gets out of a jog half the time, lacks intensity (particularly in aerial contests where he either drops his head or just makes a weak attempt) and goes missing for huge parts of the game. His lack of effort in his last few games last year was appalling.

If we are forced to play Chol, we won't be making any GF that he's part of, that's for sure. I'll have a carton of beer with you.
