The I ❤️ Collingwood thread.

Man with this board challenge l didn't realise how badly Collingwood wanted to be Richmond

It is fun to watch when it is not your team imploding
I’ve lost track of the amount of things they have tried to copy off us
I guess they’ve tried almost every successful thing we did and they’ve failed, so now they’re thinking “ why not try the unsuccessful things they’ve done, it might work for us”

And to think Essendrugs is at stage 1 of 2 of this very same process right now. This is the gift that keeps on giving.

Please PRE, I fear my ears are deceiving me.

On the Couch. I could’ve sworn they were discussing Collingwood and their god-awful defence-first strategy.

They said you could mount an argument that Buckley is coaching the house down because his players are following his game plan to the letter.

I mean... WTF

I can only conclude that Buckley’s impending presence in the media next year has everyone spooked. What a pathetic backwater the AFL industry is at times.
I don't think I would be able to stomach Buckley providing his sage wisdom upon us during a game on the telly or radio.

How the media side steps his performance in the coaches box has me fked.
If any other club averaged 7 goals a game or having more qts without a goal kicked.
Pricks like Parrot, Robinson, King, etc would be calling for his sacking.
Compare the media on Teague to Buckley

Aw but he’s such a ’good bloke’

On Buckley, they won't make any decisions until the new board is installed, then who knows. Personally I hope they keep him on as that can't end well, they've tried the Richmond/Dimma assistant coach move and that didn't work.

TBF Buckley was screwed end of last year after the list management disasters. That's set them back 5 years at least. They should be honest about going into a rebuild, trade out Moore and other players with currency and start with a new young coach.

They are stuck with Grundy though.

He was the one that wanted Treloar and Beams
Lets not just think list managers pull the strings at clubs.
He could've not signed/Kepted Elliott, Greenwood, Degoey etc

I think they’ve started their rebuild. Been playing lots of kids. Will shed more dead wood at seasons end, eg Cox, Greenwood, Mayne,

I heard it was a senior coterie/board person who really pushed the Beams thing.

Hopefully they hold off sacking him until at least round 16 when he will be the inaugural member of the 500 non premiership winning games club

Then we get the new coach jinx the following week.

Nothing to be gained by sacking him before the end of the season. He’s in Tony Shaw mode, building for someone else’s future.

Bucks will go 500 games without a Premiership.

What's the longest run anyone has gone before winning a Premiership, as opposed to anyone who quit the game without winning a Premiership?

Roos game #440. Long way in front of Choco Williams #345. Shane Crawford (player only) at #305 is the only other one above 300.
