If the defence presents a similar incident as evidence it allows the most lenient previous penalty to apply. I'm certain clubs have been actively forbidden from tabling it in the past.

So apparently because Buddy was “twisted” and off balance and that Ryan didn’t sustain an injury it didn’t necessitate a one game suspension, just a fine.

Milburn actually got 3 weeks reduced to 1 at the tribunal.
