And the President says we expect to play finals in 2022 ? Way to put a sandbag on a new coach’s back before they’ve even started you idiot !

What if a prospective coach believes they may need to take a step back before they can go forward ? List changes, new game plan, new assistants…. oh but you’ve gotta play finals.

What a dhead. What a total rabble they are.
I laughed when I heard that. Finals? How about he gets the club in order before worrying about finals.

Judd. Is there a bigger money grabber than him?

Don't think so, did the wife get the garage fixed up so she could put the the Range Rover in? Could you imagine the school pick-up? :vomit

I hope that this is true.

A phone call to a few player managers wouldn't be a bad idea.

"A group of key players made an 11th hour bid to keep David Teague as coach earlier this week.

Although the last-ditch effort was ultimately unsuccessful, CEO Cain Liddle was left in no doubt that several important players would have preferred the board keep Teague for 2022.

Among the players to voice their support were the Curnow brothers, Sam Walsh, Harry McKay, Jacob Weitering and Nic Newman.

Adam Saad, Zac Williams, Caleb Marchbank, Liam Stocker, Liam Jones and Tom De Koning are also believed to have spoken favourably of Teague in the review."

And it was a confidential survey of the players - there is no way they make the 8 next year, a new board, a new coach, a new footy manager, new support staff - that’s one heck of a broom through that joint.

So pretty much all their good players liked him and wanted him to stay.

But Cripps said no, he needs to go, so he goes? Is that how it goes?

Operation - Get Teague to Tigerland, followed by Walsh :D

You don’t normally say it or recommend it where young guns are concerned, but in Walsh’s case he’s seriously gotta consider his contract position with that ongoing rabble. They are a mess and don’t look like getting better anytime soon. Does he wanna be another Marc Murphy or worse ?

He should be considering his outside options big time before signing his next contract. Would be controversial if he moved, but that club is defective.

Do a Tom Scully you reckon?

Unfortunately people on the inside often cant see the mess they are in. A new coach will come all will be positive then in 2-3 years they will replace the coach again.

That’s right. I can see Lyon or someone coming in, improving them short term and guys like Liddle, Lloyd etc smiling to themselves, then it all starts to revert again. It just has that smell about it. Their list is nowhere near as good as those fools and some in the media think. They have board and management instability. They look like being rubbish for years to come to me.

Walsh will probably re sign but geez… he should do some thorough due diligence and listen hard to external offers.

Yes, that's the likely scenario.

If Teague was to come to Punt Road, there might be a chance to get Walsh or a Weitering.

Wonder how Teague is feeling today with the news the new president had a meeting at Ross Lyon's joint 2 months ago.... allegedly!
Sounds like these two blokes are made for eachother. ...

Gee, you'd love to be in the trenches with Lyon. ... he'd *smile* use you as a step ladder to get out!

It was pretty obvious from Footy Classified that he had spoken to Carlton. He essentially dismissed Collingwood for being a disorganised rabble but not so Carlton who were/are in all likelyhood far worse.

Collingwood is an infinitely better job imo.
