Talking Politics

Will be interesting to see what Brett Sutton has to say tomorrow in the SlugGate inquiry. Dandenong Council spoke today. John Bennie the CEO said that ICook closure was nothing to do with what happened at Knox Hospital and it was due to happen on their premises. While Sutton at the time closed ICook and named ICook in a media conference announcing the closure by saying they were responsible for a death at Knox Hospital. The lady who died never ate their food.

Also it’s been stated that the only two people that had power to close ICook foods were the CEO of Dandenong or the CHO. Sutton was acting CHO at the time so shouldn’t have signed the order off

Also Elizabeth Garlick stated that the photo wasn’t in anyway changed to remove the tissue. This directly contradicts what a former staff member said last week.

The more I read and watch the more it concerns me. I would encourage anyone who is not familiar with what has happened to do their own research.

What happened?

What happened?
Brett Sutton said he stands by his decision to close and that he was sorry about misleading the inquiry last year in regards to ICook foods being the only supplier to Knox hospital.

It’s not going to become clear of what happened until this goes to court in 2022.

It clearly contains some damning information about Porter.

Like an alleged first hand alleged account by a Macquarie Bank MD of Porter allegedly bragging the alleged morning after the alleged event about the alleged event. Allegedly.

I thought it was more of a case Porter had bragged to James Hooke many years later that he had shagged his current girlfriend in the past, not so much the day after the rape. Therefore Porter's lied at his teary eyed press conference when he said he'd had no sexual relations with the victim at all.

If what you're saying is correct then thats more damning. This whole episode has been a travesty of justice. NSW police largely to blame.

Matthew Guy likely not be the new opposition leader tomorrow. He should be able to do a better job, and hopefully for all our sake keep the Government accountable.

Hasn't he already had a go at it?

Yeah he has. But it wouldn’t be hard for him to be a better option than O’Brien. There is a few instances were someone has made a successful run at after missing out on it the first time.

Yeah he was. I would like to think he might be a bit smarter this time around.

Regardless of who you vote for we need a strong alternative to keep the Government accountable.

I figure Guy, who didn't do a great job with the previous leadership challenge, would have been doing the numbers and only challenging now if he has the numbers. Mind you, those numbers can melt away when the actual challenge happens.

We'll see.

Don't think it will make much difference to their fortunes though.

O’Brien is hopeless but they are replacing him for the wrong reasons and bringing in some wrong people.
They reckon he didn’t challenge Dan enough but my view is what people want is constructive engagement and calling to account but not mindless carping and naysaying.
The involvement of the Victorian liberal party’s chief moron in Tim Smith makes me less than confident that it will get better and may even get worse.

Monday last week Bacher was on a big zoom call with Andrews and a lot of school kids. I'm sure it was all about his foundation work but would not surprise me if more than one party has sounded him out. If fact they would be derelict in not asking.

The story on the news tonight contained about 2 minutes of basically Matt Guy making an arsehat of himself 5 different times.

I know it never did Tony Abbott any harm but surely it is a waste of time going forward with him.

They'd be better off going full lunatic with Tim Smith and trying to tap the anti lockdown market.
I dont think Guy is a good alternative, but they had to make a change. O'Brien's response to Covid has been such a disaster there was no way back for him.

Matthew Guy back as the leader? That eliminates the ability to accuse the current government of corruption. Lobster fishermen are rejoicing
