Apparently John Noble at Bumwood also doesn’t have a commitment yet ? What ?? He was in their starting 22 week in and week out this year. Can’t be right…

Richmond is another club who could package up some of its selections for another earlier pick, while St Kilda has also been on the lookout for more earlier picks using future selections to pay for its Next Generation Academy pair Marcus Windhager and Mitchito Owens.

After pick No.9, the Saints hold picks 62, 66 and 67 – worth a total of 272 points.

Sier was a pretty high priced project, not surprised he bombed.

He was highly rated by pies fans and i thought he may well be the next big mid for them especially after the 2018 GF where he had performed well but has since stagnated.
What pops up to me is his lack of speed and foot skills.

As raw as they come, so little exposure, so little conditioning, I really think they could have nabbed him much later in the draft, seems like they were spooked into spending a second rounder.

Been reading everyone's posts - which are fantastic, thanks guys. Loving your insights on the players. 6 more weeks of this will be fun.

Have my thoughts too, but haven't watched as much of the games as all of you - so not as researched. For me - Ward, Ward, Ward. Wont happen at 7 I know. Just a leader as well. Within reason, would do what we can to jump up the order.

Rate Johnson, Rachele, Sinn and Hobbs, its a no for me on NWM. We don't have time to wait on Andrew. Gibcus I just don't see it TBH, I wouldn't reach.

I'm as fascinated by the later picks. Hope we can pick 5. To only take 4 seems a big waste (I'd rather we put Cumberland on the rookie list and delist Garthwaite and Egg).

Was thinking - ukk - about these picks the last few years. Lochie O'Brien Pick 10, Coffield Pick 8 and Hunter Clark pick 7 same draft I think, SPS Pick 6, Brander Pick 13. Is this the level of player we get?
Could be boring but it's why I hope we go the safest options!
Agree about taking 5. This is a strong draft and we have a very strong hand.
Taking 4 only and saving would waste that advantage.

I'm leaning the opposite to most and would rather go tall's early. We have just replaced a hole left by Astbury's retirement but for how long?
IMO its bought the perfect amount of time to get a tall up and running by the time Jack or Tarrant are cooked.
Mid's are the easiest commodity to replace as log you don't draft a complete spud they are up and running a lot faster than the tall's
Just as the Brownlow is a midfielders award most drafts have plenty of these types to pick up at least 1 possibly 2 good ones every year if your recruiters are worth their salt.
Our list has quite a few young mids on the way through but as far as our forward and backline goes we basically have Balta and then it falls away pretty quick and that's before any more cuts to the list.

One things for sure its going to be a far more interesting draft day than last year.

Finally got around to watching some of the WA v SA games tonight.

A bloke that caught my eye that hasn't been spoken about is Kade Ditmar for WA. Classic two way running mid. Solid, energetic , exuberant. Tackle machine.

I looked up his WAFL stat's. The thing that impressed me is his best game of the year was when he stepped up from colts to reserves. Picked up 29 touches. Also played WAFL league game too but was quiet.

I like blokes that play better at a level up.

He's not a first rounder, probably not even a 2nd rounder but something about him I like if we end up using a 3rd rounder

He's hard at it isn't he, I like him. Another who I thought played well was Tunstill.

Nah, the hype is real, Jaeger O'Meara hype, and there's a lesson right there.
Norf fans are already carrying on like he's being inducted into the Hall of Fame next yr
P.S on Gibcus a poster on BF says he was chatting to a Coach of Gibcus at work today & he told him he'd played fwd/ruck until he got to the team he plays for now & they turned him into a KPD.

That's interesting, certainly increases his currency. Enough to displace Goater as my preferred? Not quite enough evidence but getting closer, I just like the certainty with Goater because I know he's good for the rebounder role. Having seen what the club has done for Balta I couldn't think of a better environment to nurture Goater's speed & power, the kid can jump like Balta too. Fun project with big upside.
