Yeah on a pure value exchange basis Cwood have gotten overs from us.
This is what I’ve been going on about for a few weeks. The fact we couldn’t get a first preference deal done with the Dogs or Cwood for 17 or 19 left us with excess picks that we critically needed to offload on a second best option basis. Cwood and others knew this so they’ve extracted overs from us. We really did get ourselves into a bit of a corner.
Oh well, could have been worse. We avoided being left with unused Draft capital or having to make undesirable de listings which would have been a disaster. Plus we get a string of three Draft picks in a row in THIS Draft which is good.
I don't buy it with these 2 wa boys,easy to exaggerate injury which benefits both guys and wa clubs so they get picked by wa clubs.
I really don't think we will use our third next year,we have our 1st, our 2nd, plus North's pick 20 odd, which is 3 good picks .
Was always going to involve a future pick, other clubs would have been offering similar.
With now having that block of 3 picks in the 20's. Does anyone think there is merit in doing this.
Picks 7 and 15 for 5 and 21 with the Hawks?
Whilst we obviously need a focus on the future, it would be of great benefit to us, to have a top pick that is basically ready to go, which it sounds like both Hobbs and Ward are. Pick 5 from the Hawks would guarantee us one of those.
We know there will be some significant quality in the 20's so we will still get a good player with that pick.

Yeah but you might be able to use that third rounder next year in any trade. It’s all capital.
Be happy zips, if we couldn't land a deal, pick 40 couldn't be used anyway. I reckon the tigers felt they will be back up there next year and giving up a 3rd likely to be a 50's pick ain't gonna hurt us.
The flexibility at draft night with a block of 3 picks in a row in the top 30 is unheard of.
I wouldnt be surprised if we did a further trade for picks 26,27 & 28 for another earlier pick.
I dont really buy into all the other clubs hate us mantra (not that you are saying this AT) but it is a good outcome from where we sat this morning
The CJ trade took longer than expected & was still being worked out as those other deals were done unfortunately. We were probably trying to exchange for North's pick 20 at one point and couldn't commit to other pick swaps until any Nth deal was done?
If we make the 8 next year giving away a mid 40's pick is somewhat palatable to me given we still have a 1st and two second rounders next year.

Well, we got caught a bit short is the reason. And Cwood took advantage. A few people were calling this out and then had a few cheer squadders labelling it as “panicking” when really, it was just logical reasoning that we were going to have to pursue a sub optimal outcome to avoid a really unpalatable outcome ie excess de listings or unused Draft picks.
Anyway, moving on. Lot of decent picks to still be able to use in an exciting Draft.
That’d be good. But who wants to go backward in the Draft at the moment ? Everyone looks like they’re trying to get up, not back. If it happened it might need something juicy next year which we’ve said we’re not gonna do.
