Yeah, the NBN. That is also very depressing, billions pissed up against the wall because they dug themselves into a hole by ruthlessly bagging Labors better plan. Again, forget national interest, just score the political points.Yeah, that decision on top of his crippling of the NBN removed any hope that Turnbull may have been a different type of PM.

The depressing thing for me is that the majority of the Australian public, a small majority but a majority, only has to be .01%, don't care about any of these monumental generation-transcending cynical blunders.

I don't think it was just political point scoring. NBN would bring streaming to Australia. Murdoch & Telstra had a decent share of Fox at the time. Government forced the use(rental) of Telstra old infrastructure on the NBN and crippled the speeds to keep the cable TV industry alive as long as possible.
Sadly not everybody. Even on PRE at the time there were debates over NBN and people saying it wasn't needed. That massive billions investment was only going to benefit gamers. The whole NBN thing really p1sses me off. Everybody, and I mean everybody, knew that we needed a decent network. Everybody, and I mean everybody, knew this had to be fibre optic cable instead of various 19th century technologies such as coax from the node to the home. But the morons went ahead and built what they knew would be a sub-standard network to the detriment of Australia. All to claim a saving and help out their mates. Disgusting.

You do realise he was granted a medical exemption by a body set up by the Andrews Government and Tennis Australia.I know state leaders have been running the country for the past 2 years, but I wasnt aware they had also taken charge of our borders.
Exactly, and thats the point im making. The Feds case to deport Novax at the second court case did not challenge the vax exemption, as you say it was on the basis of his public utterings. In effect, the Feds accepted the vax exemption. Neither the Feds not the State Govt come out of this looking good, or even competent (Tennis Aus comes out even worse). As Asarenka says, there should just be a clear no vax-no play rule and it would be easy and simple.

yep. At least this account puts (parody) after it to help us outThe sad thing about politics these days is that it’s hard to tell what’s the truth and what’s satire
No doubt. It was a monumental *smile* up all around by TA, Commonwealth and State.Exactly, and thats the point im making.
People can't poke a finger at the Feds without poking a finger at the Andrews Government as well.

There's one big difference though. Vic State Government kept relatively quiet about it. ScoMo came out and said it was Victoria's issue and problem to resolve. An hour later after consulting his minders, he came out and started the strong tough PM stance that NoVax won't be allowed in. Fed's escalated the issue quite a bit.
But yeah, there's plenty of blame to go around on this one. No Vax No Play should have been the rule TA followed, no matter how much the sponsors wanted the World's #1 here.
How was the PM today in his presser almost begging the backpackers & foeign students to come back to Australia.
The day after travel warnings to Australia were announced..

He was asked about his comments later & his reply was "I don't drive a forklift so don't ask me"
As long as they've done the training n been licenced what's the problem?? It's not quite like they'll be doing 200 kph at 0300 in a 60kph zone while listening to doof n texting their mates. So the PM's latest brain wave is to discuss with national cabinet the possibility of under 18s driving forklifts to fill in shifts at warehouses struggling with staff shortages. Surely that will be knocked back.
