Pick 63, 2017 Ben Miller - Welcome to Tigerland.

He's had a really solid couple of games.

His errors have been concentration and inexperience.

All fixable.

He has quickly become our best distributor out of the backline, which is astounding given what our backline has done for 5 years.

There was a kick in the third quarter that wasn't 'safe'. It was a 50-metre Dustyesque bullet to the wing.
That was an absolutely superb kick. At first I thought he'd got caught in two minds as to what he wanted to do n it was gunna be another butchered possession. Damn sweet a pass as you'd ever want to see. Vision, adjustment, execution n made it look easy.
Had solid numbers in the first half then barely got near it in the second half, got a feeling he must have copped a niggle of some sort to get subbed out.

He probably had nothing. They wanted to get MJR on and the back line could lose one. The sub is a joke.

Sign him up Blair.
Yep no brainer. He looks at home at AFL level right now. Halving contests and running to get involved. Huge plus.

You don't let 196cm, 91kg 22 year olds walk. Entering his prime. Taz and Grimes have one or two years left, he steps into the role full time once one of them goes or gets injured.

And we’ve put a fair bit of time into him. Be silly to let him go now when it looks to be paying off.

Agree. Yep wasn’t sold. But it’s amazing what continuity and confidence does to a player.

Balta Miller Biggie, Gibcus, Brown and Rioli should be our back 6 for the next tilt.

Biggest problem he has at the moment is that we have too many defenders. Must keep Miller, a priority, because a fair number of our too many backs are nearing the end of their careers. Maybe we need to swap Miller and Gibcus in and out a few games each while the older players are still good. Plus we can put both in when there is an injury.

It is hard to see how we can keep all of Miller, Tarrant, Gibcus and Balta in the back line at once. Too tall. But when Tarrant retires then we will be able to fit the other 3 in, and this would be a good back line.

As at R17 2022 we want Miller sending it inside 50. Was too conservative at the first ground ball he faced. He recovered and went full tilt next time. Getting better at holding position. We want him on the run and using. When he has the tank. But for now it's his defensive work that he has to focus on. Big improver.

Hence we have to find another spot for Balta in the meantime. Against my better judgment, perhaps we just persist with him forward. Or do we try him on a wing?

The media scrutiny over him being subbed is ridiculous. Here we are at round 18 after hundreds of games & this is being asked now??
The media scum reckoned we had pulled a shonky last year in round one when Vlastuin was subbed off, he didn't play again until round 8.

there was no apology from the lowlifes though.
