I think it may have been Jordan Lewis who said that

Which is funny because it was the umpire instructing Marlion to move, he was lining him up with the centre of the goals. It was a stupid comment from someone who should know better.

Jordan Lewis is a boring peanut. He’s also not that smart and wears glasses to try and make himself look smarter.

You aren’t fooling anyone Jordan.

Jordan Lewis ain't smart, spot on.

constantly making up words he knows exists somewhere in smarter people's mouths.

he is a smug, lacks charisma and adds very little to the coverage

Dimma touched on it but it was good to win the last 2 weeks with Cumberland (6 games) MRJ (12), Gibcus (15), Sonsie (4) and Miller (9) as part of the developing youth. Hugo and Juddy currently in the 2 but a part of the youth development that’s had a taste of AFL and haven’t looked out of place.

Finally got to watch the game later this arvo, took forever to download it.

One thing I did notice, maybe it is having a few smarter players up forward, but we didn't seem to have the situation where everyone flew for the mark leaving no-one to crumb. Much better. Noticeable that Cumberland would stay down if Lynch or one of the other taller players went for the mark. Positioning was better but still needs some work, but at least there were players around the pack who could get the ball if no-one took a mark.

A vast improvement.

Richmond believes it has the defensive depth to cover for star defender Nick Vlastuin as the Tigers’ run of “elimination finals” returns to the MCG for crunch games against Hawthorn and Essendon.

Vlastuin will not play against Hawthorn after being crunched in the ribs by Port Adelaide’s Charlie Dixon and was subbed out for Jason Castagna.

He will join the Tigers’ co-captain Dylan Grimes on the sidelines, with Richmond confident there is no long-term damage but expecting him to miss at least this week.

Damien Hardwick was able to throw the reliable Kamdyn McIntosh into defence after Vlastuin’s injury so will likely keep him in that position and find another wingman.

McIntosh was cleared to play against the Hawks after the MRO ruled his high spoil on Port Adelaide’s Darcy Byrne-Jones was a genuine attempt to contest the ball.

Meanwhile, captain Trent Cotchin was also not penalised for a tackle on Ollie Wines which saw the Power star hit his head on the ground.

Nick Vlastuin was crunched by Port gorilla Charlie Dixon.

Are they allowed to call him “gorilla” ? Personally reckon he’s more of a bozo, but anyway.

Every team’s performance analysed and graded in foxfooty.com.au’s Round 21 Report Card.

RICHMOND

The Tigers will be a real threat if they can hang on to eighth place and lock in a finals berth. They showed they have weapons in attack with Tom Lynch and Shai Bolton enjoying a night out in Adelaide. Richmond racked up 62 inside 50s and 45 clearances away from home and finished +31 in the contested ball count. A number of players put their bodies on the line in the must-win game to ensure they remain alive in season 2022.

In the votes

Shai Bolton was the player of the match, and could have finished with an absolute bag of goals if not for his inaccuracy. He still ended up with an equal career high of four goals, but also landed five behinds. Tom Lynch was devastating in attack as he racked up 4.1 from his 16 disposals. Dan Rioli also showed what he is capable of if needed in attack with two goals in his 25 disposals. Fox Footy’s David King believes Dion Prestia is the key to Richmond’s success in 2022 after he collected 32 disposals and 10 clearances.

Room for improvement

The Tigers didn’t have a match up for big Charlie Dixon when he was deep in the square. And that could be a concern for Richmond heading into the final two rounds. Marlion Pickett had a quiet night with just the eight disposals, but even he silenced the crowd with a brilliant goal from the boundary. Nathan Broad coughed up two goals from two defensive errors. The first when he punched the ball through for a behind and was penalised, and the second for insufficient attempt to keep the ball in play inside his defensive 50.

We weren’t perfect but rarely are. When we bring the effort and pressure like that we are hard to beat. I think we will make it but it’s probably going to be an interstate game for the EF.
