I reckon you are under rating Nank there. Like a lot of our guys they arent Home and Away stars, but come finals time it is a very different story. Nank is one of the best rucks in the league comes September.

I would gladly add Grundy to our list, but he would be competing for a spot with a guy who has been crucial to our 3 premierships. (and he would cost too much)
How am I underrating Nank when I'm saying we don't need Grundy (because we have Nank)?

Interested on your thoughts on Harry Lemmey BH or anyone
Was a highly rated KP 12 months ago but now has dropped off the earth.
Considering we're in need of a Jack and eventually Lynch replacements over the next 3yrs is he worth the gamble?
Struggled a bit this year, lacks a fixed position, not sure about the reliability of his kicking to be honest, I think if you take him as an intercept player you would probably need to work on that aspect of his game. I am predicting he'll be overlooked due to lack luster performances at senior level but there's still time if he can make some inroads over the next couple of years. As a forward he was ineffectual but I also think players benefit greatly from learning the ropes in defense, some like Patty McCartin manage to reinvent themselves.

I read your post to say we dont need Grundy because rucks arent important.
It's not that they're not important. They're fundamental if your ruck gets flogged. They're just not as important as midfielders and key forwards. As long as your ruck's good enough to not get flogged, you're okay if everything else stands up.

(Grundy flogged Nank in the 2018 prelim but sweet fa of anything else stood up for us that night either.)

Have we reached 2022 yet....?
I'm holding fire until we know our situation, Taranto could make this draft difficult in terms of what's available down the order. The guy I want won't be available with our current picks.

That Grundypants bloke was pretty ineffective late in the last qtr of the 2019 prelim against grandpa Mumford. Continually dropped the ball at his feet for a dozen stoppages in a row when they needed to create clear space to try n win the game.

Nankster generally manages to find beast mode when we need him in big games. *smile* pretty footballers, they generally go missing when the *smile* hitting the fan.

Grundy is a proven finals performer, ranked 6th on the list over the past 5 years. Dusty first of course, Shuey second which may surpsrise some people.

1. Dustin Martin
2. Luke Shuey
3. Lachie Neale
4. Christian Petracca
5. Clayton Oliver
6. Brodie Grundy
7. Tom Liberatore
8. Ollie Wines
9. Marcus Bontempelli
10. Shane Edwards

Thanks mate.
Found a reference in the H/Sun to him being shifted too the backline late this year.
Makes him a bit more enticing.
Fancy having 3 players who can play either end on our list.Gibcus/Balta & Lemmey.(4 if you include Miller).
Sort of tempting.

Waiting on the athletic data, that will tell a bit of a tale, have some good reference points in Gibcus & Alleer. At the moment he's in the 40-rookie range.

When you say he might be overlooked, do you mean completely, or just a slide into the 2nd / 3rd round? I'd assume if he slipped down the order, he'd be worth the punt?

Was talking from a Richmond perspective but he's off to the combine so there's interest, probably fine anywhere from our 3rd round to rookie. I still have a few queries about his contested marking ability, lead up forwards can cause headaches when assessing their worth, Schache is a prime example, won a Larke medal, broke the record for goals scored but hasn't lived up to the number 2 billing. Can Lemmey take a contested mark? That's the crucial question & I haven't seen much evidence to date.

Old Catschache!
I lowered my colours with that call, didn't even live up to my revised target of Jack Watts MKII, doesn't look like making it defence either. I have gone over those tapes a few times & it's the contested marking which is absent in just about all of his goals at state level, I'm totally gun shy with these types now.

Anyhow, is Crouch a good idea? He was your boy in the Lennon draft.

Crouch is a punt I’d take. lol, we didn’t have enough mids at the Lennon draft and still don’t.

I’m not enamoured with Taranto and wouldn’t give up both picks inside 20.

Taranto and two picks inside the first two rounds is acceptable.

I think these trades for Taranto and Hopper will go through for less than what most are saying, and I believe we will keep our 2023 1st rounder intact.

Taranto pick 12 + later pick or swap of later picks. His back issue in concerning.

Hopper pick 19 - he is a salary dump player after all who barely played this year. If we miss out, we sign him next year as a FA.
