I'm stoked with those two, so far it's looking like a good haul.Would love Rachele but think its very clear that we absolutely nailed it with Gibcus and Sonsie

I thought then and still do now that Banks and Brown are basically the same players. We needed JVR as a key forward. He's one I would have taken over Brown, I would have been happy with any of Johnson/Goater/van Rooyen in that slot. I think picking a flanker in the top 20 should only be done if there's absolute top shelf kicking - Rich, Hurn, Salem etc. Some obviously believe he's in that category so I'll be keeping an open mind, fingers crossed.
played a great game in the Vfl grand final yesterday .............what a pick up ............they are developing him nicely ......big boyStill very keen on Jacob Van Rooyen. 36.12 as a key forward in year one of the VFL. That's super impressive.
Spoke to someone involved with Casey/Melbourne and the Dees see JVR playing a lot of footy next year as a key forward. And there was a push fro him to play this year, quite a few people were bewildered he didn't get a look at AFL.

He's been terrific looking at those numbers, responded to every positional change & projects as a true swingman, that probably spells the end for Ben Brown.played a great game in the Vfl grand final yesterday .............what a pick up ............they are developing him nicely ......big boy
I confess I initially only watched the third quarter of that match after reading that Keeler lit it up. Confirmation bias, mea culpa. But I watched the first quarter last night and Foster was consistently beaten at around the ground ruck contests by his smaller opponent (not Keeler). Doesn't look to have a great leap going by that, although to be fair he wasn't jumping, he was just standing and reaching. He is a good mark and a nice kick but yeah, ground game is pretty important, don't think you can be just a kick-mark player these days. I'll have to take a closer look at him.Thats not a great example ,his run and jump is elite ,he is a excellent mark just needs to improve his ground game more.
You watched Keelers match against Norwood ,Foster was very good for Norwood ,Foster was good in a losing side.
Fosters a better mark and kick for goal than Keeler, but Keeler is better at ground level.
Yeah, excellent numbers. I only saw his game against us, when Biggie gave him a bit of a touch-up. Which is probably more good for Biggie than bad for JVR.Still very keen on Jacob Van Rooyen. 36.12 as a key forward in year one of the VFL. That's super impressive.

Brown is a beautiful kick, great mark, quick, smart, etc. Has elite traits. But otherwise agree on the anti-flanker bias. If JVR becomes a player Brown will have to be a star to justify the call. He's one I would have taken over Brown, I would have been happy with any of Johnson/Goater/van Rooyen in that slot. I think the big difference between Francis Jackson & Matthew Clarke has been in the tall stocks department, Jackson averaged 1 key position player every draft, even right up until his last year he correctly identified the potential rivers of gold. I'd even put the Moore/Chol selections as one of his biggest hits, grabbing a couple of rough diamonds, having them compete against one another & then promoting the best option, in this case it was the classy kicking which won the battle.I thought then and still do now that Banks and Brown are basically the same players. We needed JVR as a key forward.
We are still looking for that player today.
I think he's done everything asked of him from a performance perspective, I just question whether he's a pack splitter who will demand the best defender. 192cm is short in this day and age, it's in that Darling/Membrey range which is more in line with the third tall role, still a viable position but not quite a like for like replacement for a triple Coleman medalist.Bully how do you see Bauer developing into a role ?.
Foster had 21 disposals 7 marks 3 which where contested and had 15 hit outs and kicked 3 goals and had 7 inside 50.I confess I initially only watched the third quarter of that match after reading that Keeler lit it up. Van Rooyen has done very well and good luck to him but he has played in a very dominant experienced team with the likes of Mitch Brown, Sam Weidemann and Tom McDonald in the forward line with him so that certainly would of helped. I bet Jacob Bauer would of loved that luxury even though I still think he is a third leading forward rather than a key position player.Still very keen on Jacob Van Rooyen. 36.12 as a key forward in year one of the VFL. From the stats posted up, it appears JVR played mainly in defence and yet kicked 36 goals for the season?Van Rooyen has done very well and good luck to him but he has played in a very dominant experienced team with the likes of Mitch Brown, Sam Weidemann and Tom McDonald in the forward line with him so that certainly would of helped. Yeah, I don't think Keeler is a great ruckman at this stage. But he was key in just about every Roosters score as they took over in the third.Foster had 21 disposals 7 marks 3 which where contested and had 15 hit outs and kicked 3 goals and had 7 inside 50.
keeler had 21 disposals 3 marks 7 hit outs and 4 inside 50's .
Foster for the season has kicked 26goals out of 11 games and Keeler 19 out of 15 games .
Foster had 47 marks which nearly half where contested ,Keeler had 67marks from 15 games 11 where contested .
I think with the draft picks we will have after trade week,Foster might be a good pick up with pick 30 and later.
He seems to be pretty good at ground level, there's plenty to work with on that front.Yeah, I don't think Keeler is a great ruckman at this stage. But he was key in just about every Roosters score as they took over in the third.
Heard from a strong source that we really wanted Darcy Wilmont with our 2nd pick. He's one I would have taken over Brown, I would have been happy with any of Johnson/Goater/van Rooyen in that slot. Gibcus & Sonsie is a good nucleus to work with, I also think Judson looks AFL quality, Matthew Clarke already gets a pass mark for this draft but the question of key position talent is still one which cannot be neglected however, Jack has one year left, Lynch will be the wrong side of 30 next year, Grimes also approaching retirement age. All of Jackson's key position talent about to disappear from view leaving the cupboard relatively bare. Now assuming that talls take 4 years & we're about to wipe out 2 drafts, I'm feeling a bit nervous about what the future may hold, it's one of the reasons I'm adamant about keeping our pick 12 this year (at a bare minimum). If we're serious about the future then it's at least 1 key position talent, ideally 2. That won't happen of course, we're committed to Taranto & Hopper, unless we have a rabbit up the sleeve it will be left up to Hartley to address, he definitely has his work cut out.Heard from a strong source that we really wanted Darcy Wilmont with our 2nd pick.
Don’t think JVR was in our thinking but totally agree that another HBF was an odd choice.
Thank God Sonsie was available at pick 28 to balance things out.
I was leaning towards Buzzo with our last pick based on our needs and to add flexibility.
Of course I’d pick Marcus Windhager if I had my time again
