I only trade if it involves pick 8, I'd even consider pick 12 & Graham for pick 8 & the Amon pick. Need to creep into the Jefferson range, very doable.
Trouble is whatever we get GWS will be demanding it goes to them. Gotta find a way to get GWS trading done 1st if we want to use any of it in the draft (which IMO would be why we'd look at trading Graham in the 1st place)

I still think the effectiveness of Jack Graham has been reduced since the rule changes.
Pressure role players D Rioli (fwd), Castagana & Graham all had their effectiveness curbed when SHocking deliberately opened up the game.
These type of high intensity roles also have a shelf life given their thankless nature.
Agreed

It’s an interesting point. A kid spends his life learning the game and doing the best as possible to take advantage of personal strengths. After years of hard work to earn a professionally living, some bs rule change effects all that. AFL’s knee jerk rule changes over recent years have possibly been a real challenge for certain players.

Lets start talking up Aartsy and George
Agree
Aarts just doesn’t get the accolades he deserves always one of our best VFL players plays his heart out every week
George would be #1 in the AFL for metres covered and his defensive pressure is outstanding

We've got them all fooled when it comes to Aarts. He's the perfect moneyball player - great intensity, tackles, fast, fit and our best player in the VFL by a mile

And the best thing is we somehow get to keep him on minimum wage! Ha! It would take a true genius masterstroke of the century for someone to steal him from us, and nobody is smart enough to do so.

Good work Tiges!

Already done when he toured

Port save costs as they cant keep flying players around

* Hinkley grabbed his nuts and asked him to cough - Medical Done
Nah. Was cheaper than that.
Hinkley greeting JG at the ground - “ How are you Jack?”
Jack- “ Not bad Ken”
Medical done

From a few days ago on Trade Radio with Cal Twomey and Riley Beveridge:

Graham signed a three-year deal with the Tigers in 2020, but it's understood he has an easily reachable trigger for next season that in reality would ensure his future at Punt Road until at least the end of the 2024 campaign.

The dual premiership player would become a free agent at the conclusion of that 2024 season, therefore is likely to only consider a long-term deal from a rival club if he is to waive his free agency rights with Richmond.

Graham flew into his home state of South Australia on Wednesday morning and toured Port Adelaide's Alberton facilities, as well as meeting with key Power officials including coach Ken Hinkley and football boss Chris Davies.

It's understood the Tigers were aware of the meeting and do not wish to lose Graham, though the club is expected to add to its midfield depth through the arrival of talented Giants duo Tim Taranto and Jacob Hopper.

Mentioned in article here:

and discussed in podcast here:

This is pretty odd. I call BS on us "not wishing to lose Graham"........
If we want to keep him... we keep him.... he's contracted for another 2 years.
Smells like a salary dump... but once opposition get a whiff of that they lowball.
He did have 3 clubs (Carlton, Adelaide and Essendon) come for him at the end of 2020 so he wouldn't be on insignificant coin.

I love JG, and he will always be Richmond royalty to me, absolute class act, on and off the field, but,

Can't see a world were JG stays at tigerland

What's he on $450-500k ?

Not sure he gets a game ahead of Ross or Sonsie, and what are they on ? $ 200k ?

Especially when his one wood is tackling and pressure, and we are getting Hopper and Taranto who do that, and get 10 clearances, and about 10 more disposals pg than JG

We will probably get unders for him, but, the players around him have improved, and he may end up being a not best 22 player coming out of contract next year, and this will be really bad for his long term financial security.

Reckon he is gone, and it will be with our blessing, that's how we roll.
Kills me as he is my favourite player, but you may be right (I like underrated meat and potato players). Backbone of all clubs.
