Brisbane traded pick 15 away today. They can't trade it to the Dogs.

I think they are hoping to trade F1 and either 21 or 25. Either way, its less than we traded for Taranto. I'm struggling to see how Brisbane can do this without trading another player out.
Sorry, I meant 21 - that they got from GWS.

Seems like the deals are pretty similar. Dunno how they get points for Ashcroft and Fletcher.

How are the Pussies going to get their deals over the line?

Both the pies and GWS will want Geelongs future 1st for Henry and Bruhn.
If Gold Coast give them 7 I expect Geelong to have to give them back 18, so how do they get Henry and Bruhn done and still hold onto 7.

So Cats get pick 7 plus Bowes and his $1.6m contract paid over the next 2 years? What are they giving back? Plus are they obliged to pay him as contracted; i.e. $800K per year for the next 2 years? Or has the AFL senior management (Chris Scott and Steve Hocking) written some new rule that no one else knows about which allows them to spread the $1.6m over the next 4 years?

You can mutually re negotiate contracts at any time, so long as it wasn't signed when your a free agent.

Always been the case AFALK.

I need help here;

I read thomas berry (small forward) 20 games for 3 (three) goals and 5 disposal average?

And when you crunch the picks swaps, GC paid Pick 25 for him?

Honestly, can someone verify thus so i dont go mad

Dermie asked that question on Fox footy. Why would a player affectively agree to halve his salary, and then/if given that he is happy to do that, why not do it with the Suns. (Ralphy garbled something about more opportunity but how can a guy get a game at Geelong but not at the Suns).

Makes no sense.

Haven't read anything on it, but Leysy would be confident it has gone as such:

Bowes wants out. He's rotting in the twos so makes sense.

He tells GC trade me out or I will stay on $800k and collect my money.

But he is open to re negotiating his contract with other teams so he can hopefully further his career (just not with GC)

Essentially he has GC over a gun, hence why they so keen to get him off the books.

That's what can happen when you backend deals, especially for average players.

No I don't think your calcs are right, but it does depend where you see the Giants F2 falling (did you use the Lions pick? They traded the Giants one with Berry).

In 25, 36 and 56 for 1452 points
Out 46 and GWS F2 (I've used Pick 21, I don't think they will improve too much next year) for 1209 points

Difference is 243 points or around pick 52

I thought it must have been Jarrod Berry. Astounding. Is that Craig Cameron?

So theyve paid pick 52 for Thomas Berry?

Thats a lot better,

But a small forward who kicks a goal every two months?

Whats the thinking there?

Interesting question; I heard them comment on ch.7 (or one of the other fta network channels) that Geelong would probably spread it over 4 years, which I thought was a strange comment to make.

Why on earth would Gold Coast want Ben Long?

Barely VFL quality.

Yeah if you are trading 2nd round picks (albeit with other picks coming back) for players like Long and Berry, then surely we'd have a chance with RCD and George?? It seems GC value their picks at very very little.

Pick 32 if you can believe it.

GC are an absolute basket case. Long may they be a feeder club for us.

If only Taranto and Hopper played for them, we would have paid 2 second rounders and Jake Aarts, with Taranto Hopper and a 1st rounder coming back to us.

Tigers go for 2 Giants players ......apocalyptic Tigers need to pay 4 first rounders and players blah blah blagh,

Cats win flag after having rules changed for them to help them.

Want 3 players and a free pick #7 nothing to see here ....great management and great Club everyone wants to move there blah blah blah.

Anyone looking at these alleged Real Estate shenanigans down there.

FMD this competition is cooked.

Have gamed the entire competiton with all the inside knowledge.
I would be looking into all their finances. Something stinks down there. Rules changed to suit yet again.
