Gill’s legacy

'CEO Elect' while Gil stays on.

*smile* me.

Kamala Dillon.

Gil has unfinished business - he has to gaslight and white ant and screw and stonewall and hachet a mob of hawthorn aborigines and a heap of blokes with long concussion

Cant wait for the inauguration.

I might stick in a tender to do the exhaustive global search for whoever is in the office downstream to Kamala's.

I think the massively paid recruiting firm (lets face it there's no such thing as a low-paid international recruiting form  ) was a window dressing exercise, or a concession to the forces who wanted change. And they would have been fine with doing it because the massive pay would have gone to some mates.

It was worth 1mil to Gil and Goyder so they wouldn't have to answers questions about the process.

Heh, Dill just mentioning Richmond a few times in his presser. Can't hear the context but it's a bit disconcerting

Probably scaring the oppo supporters thinking he's gonna do some deals for us behind closed doors. I can see it now through social media.

Gill can get F off ( sorry) and take his two lovecholds who are diluting the distribution money to the clubs who are keeping the AFL afloat.

Stuff their Marvel Stadium. A soulless ground.

Get rid of GWS & GC and the money saved, distribute back to all clubs, varying % and grow the game and talent in grassroots football states.

The pool of talent is already being diluted hence some clubs are looking at other codes, overseas etc. but it’s still diluted as those kids haven’t grown up playing our game but exhibit talent, athletism etc.

I have nothing against Tasmania coming into the competition. But when that happens they will have access to the best talent and best 17 year olds as GWS did ( I think ).

Tassie should have been in the competition prior to GC and GWS.

GC licence should have been the Southport football club which was already established. No one truly cares about the GCS on the coast.

Participation rates. Where? How many kids? Figures. Transparency by the AFL ( sorry that’s just a given to be ).

GWS have been much better organised because of the mistakes and not properly thought out scenarios. It was amateurish how the GCS by a $ Billion dollar rights deal.

GWS will never succeed based where they are and in a heartland overrun with the love of Rugby.

GCS will be a failure. Gold Coast people don’t give a rats about them. Hence they are always giving away free tickets, kids for free etc.

And I would say that a quarter of a million has been spent on both of those ‘franchise ” clubs to keep them going and for Gill’s ego.

For me, his legacy is one of only $, no true fan engagement or or consultation with the other 16 clubs. No basically the ‘big clubs” who have questioned the AFL, the Commission.

If you are critical or have a different view, a concerning view those clubs are put on notice and get what I term as a ‘payback” in playing “our home game “ against the GCS at Marvel instead of the MCG.

Gill, you hung around after earlier announcing you would be stepping aside, but you wanted that nice “Polo bonus”.

You want us to believe it was because of the license issue and Federal funding for Tasmania side, when initially it was the ‘racism issue’ that came to light and the terrible treatment of the players & families .

Haven’t heard anything as to what stage the investigation is at and informing the public that it’s still front and centre for the AFL.

The AFL, the Commission and Gill are hoping this will fade in the sunset with no closure for the affected parties.

You made fools of the people who made themselves available for an interview for the AFL CEO role.

Yet none of them were going to be in with a chance.

It was always going to be “your man” and the AFL spent $1mllion dollars for an independent, outsourced consultants to give you the name you were always had for your successor.

Then, either you, someone from AFL house had to start some rumour to do with Benny Gale’s to discredit him.

*smile* off Gill.

Today couldn’t be quick enough for many of us true AFL supporters.

Dillon being announced at 10:15. It's official.
Well no one saw that coming. Completely shocked to be sitting here and read that.
The afl just threw $1 million of the clubs money down the gurgler.
Transparency? I hope the Commission and goitre Goyder get lambasted at the next meeting with club presidents. And goitre Goyder Is recommended to stand down and retire.
What a dogs breakfast of an organisation

Its an amazing worldwide search when the 2 best options for the next CEO sit in offices down the hall. Do these guys think that the whole AFL community are stupid?

and the winner is, Andy from Legal...

I get that an exec search will entail time and energy to see what shakes out from a world-wide search, but the nepotism is real. This guy would have the inside knowledge on the joint for the last 10 years. That is a major, nigh unbeatable advantage over your competition.

Thats a prerequisite and a big part of what takes these entitled, self-serving suckholes to the top everywhere, in everything.

But, its pretty hard to prosecute the case against with record crowds.

After an expensive exhaustive worldwide search for the best person for the role, they’ve discovered that the best person was sitting in the next office? Shock horror
Who would have thought that with the afl. I’m glad I was sitting down when I heard that
September 14 last year
If only picking Powerball numbers was as easy

Gil used the Tasmanian stage yesterday to start writing his own epitaph.

its what these blokes do.

'I want to thank the AFL presidents for holding us to account, making us better'

so 'we were dragged kicking and screaming for decades and ultimately outflanked. snookered 20 years late';

becomes 'we are visionary, proactive, transparent, consultative, inclusive and responsive'

in his victory lap over the season, we will hear gaslit grabs such as;

'the confusion and protracted nature of the Essendon supplements issue will never ever happen again'

so ''we stonewalled, gaslit, assassinated characters, killed messengers, marginalised whistleblowers, obstructed agencies, whatever it took to protect our brand'

becomes 'we self reported and opened ourselves to scrutiny because we are transparent, consultative, inclusive and responsive'

'the learnings we have on racism are thanks to Adam Goodes. he made us better, he made us listen'

so 'we did absolutely nothing to prevent a hall of fame footy treasure from being howled into a bitter end by racists'; becomes

'we are all on this reconciliation journey, together, and footy brought us together, because we are we are transparent, consultative, inclusive and responsive'

'we lead the world on concussion management, thanks in no small part to former players such as Danny Frawley and Shane Tuck'

so 'we buried research, discredited individuals, lied and obsfucated, while blokes brains turned to jelly and then they topped themselves'

becomes 'we are proactive leaders who place our workers first, we are transparent, consultative, inclusive and responsive'

'The hawthorn victims allowed us to be the very best, to tackle difficult issues head on';

morphs from 'we stonewalled, gaslit, assassinated characters, killed messengers, marginalised whistleblowers, to protect our brand'

to 'we self reported and opened ourselves to scrutiny because we are transparent, consultative, inclusive and responsive.

he will subtly edit the worst of his failings publicly, repeatedly, probably scripted by an overpaid optics management consulting firm. with slight of hand, an agile dosy doe over the line from the wrong side of history, he will lay the public domain down on the table, hoping if he does it enough times during his carefree retirement transition, he'll seem reflective and vulnerable and authentic.

No booing at the football now but you can boo Gillon "Boo Boo" MCLachlan. BOO BOO BOO BOO ETC ETC. You can also Boo Dillon as he will be just a Gillon clone. You can Boo The Club Presidents , AFLPA for not standing up to Boo Boo & saying enough is enough. Wont be long before Dillon introduces a new edict to further suffocate the game.
