The Blair "Which?" Project

Exactly. Balta is going to want a payrise for a start.
Gunna be incremental, he's gotta prove he's worth big coin consistently. At 23 y.o. he'd have already had one pay upgrade from beginner to potential but then stagnated a tad. Might get upgraded from ( guesstimate ) something like $350 / 400 a year to $550 / 600 a year for two or three years until he can prove he's gunna be good enough to earn the big shekels.

But who of our lot is coming off contract that will demand decent coin? It won’t be all available to spend. Has de Koning at Carlton signed an extension yet?
Hasn’t signed yet
DeKonning on the open market would demand upwards of $850K pa

I don't disagree but I wonder what other club's will offer?

Love his potential as a player! He’s not the finished product by a long way. Maybe he gets there maybe he doesn’t.
If he left what’s the asking price. Two first rounders? Why not it’s what we paid for Tarranto.
Either way it would be a win/win.

Depends on how he performs during the rest of the season. He's yet to become a bankable KPP regardless of promise and potential. Steps up n solidifies over the rest of the year then I'm guessing clubs start looking around $700 / $800 a year to poach. Continues to be an o.k. but sometimes inconsistent KPP then he's probably somewhere between $450 to $600 staggered over 3 years.

We need role players.
It's hard to say it bit Collingwood are unbelievably good at it.
Milocheck cost then nothing. Robust tough.
The dud from Adelaide & Port does the job. Defends.
Bobby Hill kicking goals every week. People forget he was a high pick they got him for nothing.

Clarke needs to find the 400k-500k players that fill the 100 holes in our side. A kid that can take a mark, Himmelberg
Small foward Anisworth or Daniels.
Players will speed Curtis

Needs to work some serious magic this off season to get back into the draft and snare a free agent.

The 2001 draft, 5 picks under 30 was meant to be the rebuild on the run..
The draft that was going to allow us to use 1st rounders to trade in.
This has all turned to shitit.
We shouldve traded the 5 picksof 2021 and kept last years picks and this year's picks.
These blokes struggle to spot talent

He worked well with Francis Jackson who built to build the bulk of the list through draft picks and he could identify the holes and fill them. He can still do that well it is just that Matt Clarke has been poor and their are too many holes to plug. You need a good head recruiter to be a good list manager. We don't have that in my opinion.

Putting a name on the radar, Sam Berry at Adelaide.

Had a wonderful 2022 but has fallen out of favor at the Crows this year.

As a 20 year old (2022 numbers) his numbers look a little like Dion Prestia at the same age.

And that's who I see him as a direct replacement for. He is an elite runner both ways is Berry, so that suits our style.

I'm super keen to engage and see what we can do. For a future pick. in 2024, I'd be keen. Fits into the same draft as MRJ and Ryan.

Its not a good look for the head recruiter if the others involved in list management are happy to trade away early picks for established players to make up for your misses.

I don’t think that a midfielder should be prime for Blair.

KPP depending on if we get Himmelberg. Small forward and perhaps a true wingman

Gee Jack Buller from WA is getting impressive numbers, 17.7 dis
9.7 marks, 2 gls game ,197 cms 21 yo

Yes , they're good numbers, he'll get picked up in the mid season draft, don't think he'll be still on the board for our pick.
