Tipping Middlesborough to join em.

However, it will be interesting to see if Luton or Coventry can sneak their way back to the top flight.

Great to see the rise and re energized Sunderland fight their way out of 3 odd seasons in League 1and in the depths of despair to be next in line for a playoff spot for promotion back to the EPL also.

That might be a bridge too far for them, considering they have climbed as high as they have without a recognized striker after Ross Stewart did his Achilles halfway into the season and their other main striker on loan from Everton was called back to help the Toffs avoid the drop.

They would be kicked straight out of the EPL if they did manage to sneak in.

Maybe next year for the Black Cats who would be a good addition back to the top flight where they belong.

What's more strange is Millwall! Imagine those feral fans if they make the EPL.

How’s young Joe Gelhardt, on loan from Leeds, gone for them? I got the sense, early in his stint he wasn’t setting the world on fire. Hadn’t followed of late though.

Think he did ok without setting the world on fire PT.

Kicked a couple of goals I think. but he got more game time than he was getting at Leeds so some good experience for him in a young side that has been playing some entertaining brands due to their lack of fire power up front.

Losing the prolific Ross Stewart to injury before the halfway point of the season and then Everton dragging Ellis Simms back to assist in the Toffees relegation battle left the Black Cats without a recognized striker, hence the chased Gelhardt.

The majority of Sunderlands goals have come from their midfield and the wingers, which makes their ability to make the playoffs without any big front target men a huge effort.

Premier League is a very wild ride this season, great fare....I reckon there's still some twists to come, at both ends of the table.

Southampton seemed doomed to drop, being 8 points from safety but salvation is still 'mathematically possible', if sadly remote.
As for the other 2 to fall through the trapdoor, who knows, though Leicester seem to be in free fall at the wrong time.

Promotion playoffs; All 4 clubs deserving. It'd be nice to see Sunderland break through after the trials of recent years but 'the romance', for me, is with Luton &/or Coventry, given where they've come from in the last 15-20 years.

If both clubs found themselves in the Premiership, buggered if I know where he ends up. I know he still has 3 years to run on his Leeds contract.

Sounds like you'd be happiest with him at Sunderland for another season mate that means United is still hanging in the big time

Big couple of games coming up for the EPL with as bitter relegation battle as been seen for some time I reckon.
