Luke Meehan and Conditioning team

Considering this site and the other which can’t be mentioned both not very enthusiastic about Meehan’s performance or future employment and the fact the club monitors both very closely it’s no surprise he’s gone to ground.
So he should be accountable for his position fitness and conditioning has been a mess last couple of years club needs to get back to the standards that made us number 1.

Diddums.

Even if Meehan was responsible for our injury woes, and that’s a big if, why get rid of him? Why not give him another chance to get things right? We give players another chance to atone for their mistakes every week. We gave Hardwick another chance after the debacle of 2016. Why not Meehan?
Weren’t those carping about Meehan also lauding the bloke we let go to Sydney , how have they gone this year on injury front ?

He means Rob Inness our x strength and conditioning coach.
And he has a very fair point

Injury mismanagement is the issue. Meehan has brought countless players back earlier this year and ultimately cost them their seasons. Inness would be a 100% improvement.

Yep. However I reckon that Dimma had more to do with the poor preseason and rushing guys back from injury.
But my biggest concern with Meehan was his philosophy of getting the running within ball drills. We have looked nowhere near fit enough all year. If Luke is still around for the next coach I would like to see an aggressive uptick in our physical preparation so that we become that team that runs over other teams in final qtrs.
Luke isn’t a mug, he has had a long career in high performance. It’s time he showed what he is worth

I believe Shane Lehane is strength and conditioning coach at Sydney. Inness looks over the whole program now
Correct.
The point BillyJean17 was trying to make was that we were all fawning over Rob Inness last year because Sydney had a very healthy list however this year the wheels have fallen off them in regards to injury whilst everyone has suddenly gone quiet on the worship of Rob Inness.

Good point. Shane was brought in this year. So wondering if that has played a part in Sydney’s drop

Yes, I have wondered how you could compete with the top teams doing most of your running in the ball drills. I haven't watched training but it seems a very different approach to what most AFL teams would do.

It's natural that when RFC gets a spate of off season injuries and the odd reinjury the new bloke will carry the can.

What is interesting atm is the improved form, soundness, freshness of Prestia, Cotchin and Martin. Jack looks fresh to me and may be in the same category.

Heading into the bye this is very encouraging. We'll get some more evidence after the bye. We want to come out of the bye explosive. We all know what that looks like.

If the evidence doesn’t hold up, I suggest we look into hiring a vet
