I thought the freo revival came on the back of a few disgraceful free kicks and non Decisions by the umps. We didn’t let it slip but a little exasperation probably crept in.

Has anyone else noticed umpire O’gorman looks a lot like a young Richard Nixon?

Did you see what Dan Butler was suspended for on Thursday night? If thats a suspension then I think Graham will be suspended and yet again the tribunal will be busy this week.

This is the clear sign to the AFL, why are so many teams questioning (and successfully in a lot of instances) the adjudication of the MRO??

BTW when old Kano says we were screwed by the umps you know we were screwed rotten.

On the Round so Far show on the AFL he comments that it was a very good win, we beat Freo, the umpires and the large home crowd.

Blakey’s head clearly cannons into the ground. No way that should be a week but from what I remember Johnson’s head doesn’t hit the ground so hence why I don’t think he should be reported. Again not ever dangerous tackle results in the head hitting the ground and the player getting suspended. However as we both know it’s a *smile* lottery!
 
Last night was the most atrocious, biased commentary in a long time. Basil Brush should be sacked.

The decision to structure taller in defence (Balta, Young, Broad, Grimes, Floss) means there is room for only two of The Prince, Short and Big Shorts in defence. Having played Jayden mid and forward for much of the past year we have sent him back to his best possie and he is producing the goods. Very happy to see him kick those goals. There was a game last year, I think against Norf, when we were behind and he had a mark in that range and instead of kicking the goal, went backwards. He must kick the goal. See how easy he did it? Kick the goal, Jayden. Take responsiblity. Lead. Good boy.

The Prince is a lock on the other HBF. The two of them are high metres gained rebounders who get forward and can kick goals from outside 50. Bakes is great at winning it back but doesn't have the line-breaking pace or ability to knock the eyes out of a teammate 55 metres away so he goes elsewhere. He's too slow for pure small forward so he's playing high HFF where his smarts, creativity and toughness get great bang for buck. I think we've found the right mix.

Only reason I say is that there was a secondary motion in the tackle. And they've gone nuts with tackling reports. Has the game been reviewed yet?

Umpiring was simply appalling, clear bias. I normally call them out for being inconsistent and generally incompetent but tonight they were so clearly on 1 team's side it wasn't funny. What was it, 16-3 at 3/4 time. Yeah right, that's fair adjudication.

Can we just ask why we don't get umpired the same as our opposition, is that really too much to ask?

Watching the replay this morning, I can't believe what I heard. Literally like a Freo fan calling the game....."Freo need 2 goals to win...." in the last minutes. Biased or what!!
 
Is it just me or are we entering fwd50 much cleaner?
No more bombs and we look so much more dangerous

Plant this match in your long term memory as the game when Jayden Short kicked three of the most beautiful text-book goals you ever saw.

Ch 7 commentators were glowing in their praise about the sweet sound the ball made when it came off his boot ... the clean execution off one step for his 2nd, etc.

In years to come, some of you will be telling your kids or grandkids, "I was there when Shorty kicked his Big 3. Straight over the umpire's hat!"

To this day, I remember being taken as a young boy to the MCG to see a cricket test between Aus and South Africa. Graham Pollock came out to bat ... and a ball hurtled down the pitch ... and with barely any movement, Pollock effortlessly clipped the ball off his toes and it rocketed to the fence. That was the same type of sound that the footy made when it came off Shorty's boot.
