Welcome Kaelan Bradtke

Really disappointed in his last month or so on field . Had showed some signs , however if you don’t do the yards off the track you ain’t going to make it .

Shocked at this decision watched him several times hope this decision doesn't come back to haunt us.

Let's be honest. Wasteful and disastrous pick.
Not sure a supplementary pick to fill a list need was wasteful or disastrous. This is the entire purpose of rookie picks. Cost us next to nothing, we found out he wouldn't work. We move on.
If we expect to get a high strike rate out of rookie picks, especially key forwards, we're going to be disappointed a lot.

We desperately need a key forward but just didn't have any AFL attributes. He will kick a lot of goals in the bush though. Good decision not to waste another year.

No issues with giving Bradtke a chance. The best part is we realized quickly it wasn’t going to work and moved him on. Wish we did this more often, particularly with the vertically inclined players.

Agree. Let's remember he was up against Narkle and Teal for the last spot. Narkle played a few games for Port and was then nowhere to be seen (state league his level) and Teal ended up out of our VFL team at stages.

Bradtke was probably the best option given his position. Didn't work. Move on - hopefully to a half decent KPF from somewhere

Bradtke ran a sub 3 second 20 metre sprint.
Yes, great speed off the mark but he didn't mark it enough, nor did he get enough possessions to kick enough goals. Good athlete, average footballer. We've recruited enough of those.

Was a supplementary pick
Most on here should Google what that means !
While we keep others on list who clearly ain’t up to it
Should of been given another year to develop
I look back at some of the current past and present Recruiting blunders and there is the reason why we ain’t playing finals

Agree. Makes you wonder what made us pick him in the 1st place. Would've been better to try Narkle who was already AFL experienced.
How would we be better picking a 25yo small who has already failed in the AFL system as opposed to a 21yo tall who hasnt been given the opportunity?

With Brad, Trent & Jack gone, do we need another 2 to move on? I assume the turnover of player is 5 per year??????

From Poshman's analysis, with Bradtke gone we can now take 3 players on (via nat and rookie draft, trade etc).

So at least another two to go. More if we want to trade anyone in.

At a minimum, Hugo and Biggy delisted if no-one trades for them. Gives us 5.

Is Steely Greene a smoky for delisting (and paying him out?)

At the time when Dimma thought we were up for the finals, we could've used Narkle as midfield/forward depth as Port showed. Bradtke showed in the VFL he was nowhere near ready for AFL....and at times not even VFL!!. What were we looking at in thinking he was long term? We cut him off already. Massive fail. I know Cat B is no big loss, but still a pick is a pick.

I'm not surprised with this decision.

Big lad, but too often the ball didn't get to ground when it went near him.

Watching him, and reading about his athletic credentials, i was left wondering whether we'd had a Fine Cotton switcharoo done on us with the real Kaelan Bradke sitting in a warehouse strapped to a chair with a bag over his head, and a rubber vall strapped into his mouth.

Where i'm coming from with that is that i've never seen a professional athlete's feet flick out the sides like this guy's when he runs. It was like watching some teenage girl who hates PE classes having to run for the only time of the week. Also, when standing on the mark after getting outmarked (often), he'd stand on the mark with his feet together, not even slightly appart. How the hell are you to move quickly from that position if play on is called? Feminine attributes don't usually lead to key position forward success!
