I've heard versions of the Fable singers version where 'skin' was seamlessly changed to 'shin'. Its a simple thing to do & would have kept everyone happy. I hope that the club has the common sense to do this at season's end.

Yep, that's what they should have done and handed the FLAC file over to the AFL and said "Here you go, use this one."

I went to the footy for 37 years and belted out the song before every game! on the odd occasion we won I belted it out again.

For many seasons our great song and the fact that so many of us stuck fat through hard tough times, was all we had to be proud of!

We have trashed a treasured art work for a plastic souless fix, for one word, one word that upset KB!

boo

Can live with skin. Will never accept the new song! I'll take the 4 points though!

twitter rumblings the old fable brothers version will be back with Shin spliced in. (for me) I can say that on TV its not as noticeable, at the ground the plastic version sounds terrible.

The previous version just has an edge the new version has never matched. I also noticed that the song on the RFC mobile app was never updated with the new version too.

Funny you should say that, being at the ground the last 2 games I could have sworn they played the old fable singers version 3 out of 4 times (with as you say "shin" spliced in).

The collingwood game they played the old fable singers version before the game, then after the win they played the new rubbish version.

Then the geelong game they played the the old fable singers version before and after the game (with "shin" spliced in.)

Thought I was going senile :spin . I didn't think there was a chance of them going back, but if they have I applaud the decision.

Same here - I heard the same at Collingwood but thought I must have acclimatised/ gone loopy when they played the new one at the end.

The Inverted Jenny is one of the most famous and unique stamps in the world, not because of its beauty, because it is an invert error. Now worth around €750,000, this stamp features an upside down image of the Curtiss JN-4 airplane and was issued in the US in 1918

Don't worry KB is having a cry and won't sleep till the US government has fixed it!

The Mickey Mouse re recorded club song is dead. Let it rest in peace in the RFC museum never to be heard in public again.

Old song with the word skin sliced into shin. Finally came to their senses. Hard to believe they went to the effort of creating a whole new recording rather than just doing this 20 years ago.

"Has the song been fixed yet? We must have the Fable Singers back!

Yes, the Fable Singers were back at last Thursday night’s final due to popular demand. We have also managed to find a solution that includes the correct lyrics. We hope that you enjoy the traditional sound."

We got there in the end.

The tribe has spoken.

Hopefully next time they engage with members vs making unilateral decision in areas that are the part of the fabric and soul of the club. A little bit of contrition in the answer would have been nice to see as well but I’ll take it. Generally excellent with member engagement.

They're the 70s/80s voice but still love the sound.

Apologies, if brought up previously, but I just noticed this article below as John Caddy (great uncle of Josh) is one of the Fable Singers:-
