Game Day - Tiges V Eagles

Looks like we've got the toys out of the pram brigade on here. Maybe an early night from PRE makes sense as I'm sure there's going to be enough BS thrown around here over the next week and a bit.

Defence - 2nd quarter we were rubbish here, and Young was rubbish for most of the game. I'll cut Miller a bit of slack, reckon he's played some good games and was a bit down defensively today but was having to cover and there was so much ball coming in. Miller I think is the least of our worries, his good ball use by foot was on show today, but he was left exposed by a very poor midfield performance. Young was rubbish. Brown I'd love to hear from people at the ground, not sure why he couldn't get near the footy today with the amount of ball that was going in there so interested to know what the go was from people that might have watched him at the ground. Rioli I thought was very good, but with Short out of the game had to drive all of the rebound himself. Broad and Vlastuin were ok.

Midfield - I thought Graham and Baker were quite good bearing in mind they were up against 3 very good starting mids, and they are 2nd string mids. Dow proved he's not up to it again IMO. McAuliffe did ok for essentially his 1st game, when Shai went in there we looked far different and able to win clearances, but ultimately our very inexperienced midfield group were frankly beaten up on by a more seasoned group and 1 of the most hyped mids ever drafted (he's going to be a very good player btw).

Forward - Its a bit hard to mark the forward line. I thought Kosi was ok around the ground, but rubbish as a forward. If we are expecting this position to be best in the ruck than Ryan has to play instead. Lefau - breakout game. I thought Mansell, MRJ and Campbell at times were good, but having such little ball in the forward line particularly after quarter time, they didn't have much of a chance to show what they could do.
Generous summary. We still had quite a few senior players out there and we got toweled up by the worst team in the comp. At a ground we like to play at.

I’ve been going since 1980 and played at a reasonable level, so reckon I’ve got a fair handle of what it takes to achieve in sport at the highest level. If you don’t like comments different to yours **** off

Now mate that comment is laughable at best - if I've been going since 1967 does that make me Tommy Hafey ?

We are all entitled to our opinions on here, I simply outlined my thoughts and did'nt play the man.

I never questioned your understanding of the game ( I have no way of knowing what that is) , your background or even really disagreed with your post but you resorted to unpleasantries because someone had different observations to yours and implied that I'm clueless and should bow down to your knowledge and experience. Then proceeded to tell me to F Off. Nice....hardly appropriate discourse and response for a man of your supposed expertise and life experience.

Here's another uncomfortable fact for you. You know NOTHING about me OR my professional background.

Period.

Not worth getting all steamed up about a heat of the moment comment or two. We all have an opinion and others may reckon we talk rubbish but that is what PRE is all about, venting our displeasure in different ways. I, as a Pom , get hammered quite often about some of my comments but as I have never played the game, I take it on the chin and carry on.

No surprise. Taranto and Ross out were the straws that broke the camel.

Tipped the Eagles, doesn’t mean they are better just that they had all their experience out there and we dont.

most of our premiership players are squarely on the decline, some steeply, and are exposed more than ever With the quality players sitting in the stands.
will make it harder for the young ones to establish themselves.

2024 will be a roller coaster… some honourable losses, maybe a scalp or two like the swans, and the inevitable pumpings.

One thing that was obvious today was our midfielders were way undersized. Weight wise, Yeo, Kelly and Reid made our midfielders look like boys.

Thanks for telling me what you think I said
You obviously looked up that he had 3 kicks, so you would have seen he had 12 disposals. So why did you say 'he had 3 kicks', rather than 'he had 12 disposals'. ? The only reason would be to significantly talk down his performance, in his first game.

Let me guess? Don't tell me what I wrote or why or some such nonsense.

A very sad game for the Tigers. Boys playing men particularly in the midfield.

What is even sadder is the way Tiger supporters on here are turning on each other.

Perspective people.

17 players out injured. The majority of those 17 are in our best 23-24.

The tipping point has been reached.

No team in this competition can be winning games with that sort of depth on the sidelines.

You think that me pointing out the fact that he had 3 kicks is a "cheap shot". You think that I implied that he had no other possessions. You are wrong on both counts.

First game or not, his contribution was minimal today.

Bulldust. Total bulldust. The Implication was crystal clear. 12 disposals in a drubbing in your first game is a solid effort. You're just digging youself a deeper hole. I get it, we got flogged, you cracked the *smile* and went a bit far. Its not a hanging offence, just own it. It was a cheap shot.

I reckon we only had one in the last two quarters. Possibly none but can’t be completely sure
Think it went like this. 3-3 in the first, 8-4 in the second, 13-4 in the third and 17-8 in the last. Amazed we got 4 whole free kicks in the last.😂😂😂😂😂

Disappointing. Obviously injuries are hard to cover but anyone can play with heart, intensity and endeavour. You don't even need to be good to do that. All those things were missing today. The team looked like they gave up after quarter time. Against a team that has been abject garbage the last couple of seasons and hadn't won game this year. Not like we were playing a premiership favourite.

It was sad to see and very hard to watch. The Melbourne game will be ugly.
Cant honestly say I was surprised at all Riddles, we just dont have the cattle to compete with probably any team apart from Norf at the moment. The team today was made up of 80% VFL level talent if we are being honest, I picked the Weagles I hate to say, but it really wasn't something Im proud about at all.

Very impressed with Mykelti today, strong leads, great mitts and kicked pretty darn well for goal, seen huge improvement in his game in just 3 weeks.

Unless we get numbers back within a month, I cant see how we aren't a Bottom 3 club by years end.

Didn’t get to see the whole game. How did ‘Ralph Malph’ go and what position did he play ?

Our slogan of "Eat 'em Alive" is certainly front & centre among the Pre-Enders tonight .................. Maybe we should change it to "Eat each other Alive" ?

He played his normal game.

Bouncy-hair-misskick.

To be fair, he had a genuine crack. But struggles to find much of the ball as an outside player and is very poor by foot.

I'd keep him in, but only numerically.
