I'm fussed about it, we've never won a GF without someone playing in Number 4.
No way we retire Number 4.

Not retired, but put in recess for a year or two. Just like 8, 9 & 12. No numbers should be retired permanently.

According to draft guru it was Hughie James. Played from 1909 - 1923. Started with 4, had 15 for a few years, then went back to 4 after WW1. 100+ games, must have been fairly handy.Who wore it in 1920 David ?![]()

VFA?1905?
NahDon't retire number 4!
We saw the Baby Bombers in the early 1990s. Why not the Tiger Cubs in the mid 2020s?
Soft.VFA?
Yeah, no idea, not VFL/AFL so doesn't really count.
DS
Soft.
Has anyone mentioned Buck Rogers? He was a decent player. Wore it just before Dusty, I think.Maurie Sheahan and Ray Steele?
Ironically I have actually heard of those 2, Hughie James I could not recall, might have read about him some years ago, you never know.
DS
Lambert?
"Jolly" as I used to refer to him was a really good player, Carn. Hard at it and one of my favourites at the time.Has anyone mentioned Buck Rogers? He was a decent player. Wore it just before Dusty, I think.
He also held the fort pretty well in 2000 when Rich went down early with a season ending foot injury."Jolly" as I used to refer to him was a really good player, Carn. Hard at it and one of my favourites at the time.
Played some pretty good footy in the 90s and was a ripper in that demolition of Essendon in the final at the G in the semi-final in 1995. Knighta had an absolute cracker game. And who'll ever forget Scotty Turner's bone-jarring shirt-front on Gary O’Donnell. I'm sure O'Donnell still hasn't forgotten it.
Improvement is more intangible than just results. If getting games into kids is happening then that can be seen as improvement despite the scoreboard being unkind. If No improvement next year unleash him.
No excuses
