I'm fussed about it, we've never won a GF without someone playing in Number 4.

No way we retire Number 4.

DS

Not retired, but put in recess for a year or two. Just like 8, 9 & 12. No numbers should be retired permanently.

Don't retire number 4!

We saw the Baby Bombers in the early 1990s. Why not the Tiger Cubs in the mid 2020s?

Maurie Sheahan and Ray Steele?

Ironically I have actually heard of those 2, Hughie James I could not recall, might have read about him some years ago, you never know.

If you dwell on the past you will never maximise the future. The Oooze philosophy was clear from day one. Invest in the youth. Give them more opportunity and responsibility.

Sure. The philosophy is sound in theory. But youth need to understand that there are non negotiable standards that must be met in order to realise their full potential as individuals and as a team. The approach must also be careful not to disenfranchise a cohort of bona fide premiership heroes. IMO ooze failed miserably on this salient point. The superhunks proved to be superflunks and a considerable end of year pivot followed what was an abysmally poor season.

Now the superflunks are in a position of greater seniority. The superflunks will be feeling the heat from the young Turks who are brash, enthusiastic and highly talented. We are also lucky to have retained a strong cohort of premiership heroes. Is Oooze capable of uniting these disparate groups within the RFC playing ranks?

This, IMO, is his greatest challenge. If he fails, his tenure will be short.

The first few games this year before injuries a lot of us were singing praises about Yze and his tactical moves. I'm expecting to see more of t hat next year with a fitter list

Has anyone mentioned Buck Rogers? He was a decent player. Wore it just before Dusty, I think.

"Jolly" as I used to refer to him was a really good player, Carn. Hard at it and one of my favourites at the time.
Played some pretty good footy in the 90s and was a ripper in that demolition of Essendon in the final at the G in the semi-final in 1995. Knighta had an absolute cracker game. And who'll ever forget Scotty Turner's bone-jarring shirt-front on Gary O’Donnell. I'm sure O'Donnell still hasn't forgotten it.

He also held the fort pretty well in 2000 when Rich went down early with a season ending foot injury.
