Changes for Semi

So we are going into the game with one ruck.

Tell me how that went early in the year when we tried it?

I think Balta will be relief ruck over Chol, and Broad plays down back.

Otherwise we have too many defenders.

I'm a little confused about what Dimma meant when he said in hindsight we would have picked a different side last week. He basically said Nank was asked to do too much work without support. Isn't that what Chol was in the side for? What other option did we have to support Nank?
Can tell u what that meant, for starters drop chol, play balta as relief ruck, bring back broad.

Surely if we halve the clearances and get it into this forward line we win, time for it to click:

HF Shai Bolton, Dustin Martin, Jason Castagna
F Daniel Rioli, Tom Lynch, Jack Riewoldt

It will be Broad. Hardwick wont mess with the defence.

If Broad goes against Battle or Marsh, he should be able to break even.

If anything, this just shows how unfavourably match committee viewed Chol's performance.

Our forward pressure was very poor from all our small forwards. Where was the manic chasing and tackling? If that doesn't improve we lose bc that has been our 1 wood. Could not get the crumbs off the packs bc Bris either did long 'golden fist' spoils or took defensive marks. Swapping Aarts for Lynch will give us marking power and tackling power. Lynch in means we don't depend on Chol as a marking deep fwd but who backs up Nank espcially if Nank gets injured? We got away with it in 2017 but we were lucky. Too late to experiment with Dusty or Bolton or Pickett or Broad as backup ruck so Chol has to stay bc we have no one else.
I'd love to put Markov on the wing to replace Pickett and Broad in defence or on I/C bench...but how?
Broad rucked in the away win against Freemantle last year and was pretty good

Surprised Saints didn’t call up Ryan Abbott, this is why they got him. Means Marshall plays predominant ruck which is good for us as it keeps him away from playing forward.

Means Battle or Marsh play as second ruck up against our second ruck Broady. Good match ups for us.
King will take his turn doing some rucking too, especially up forward. He's huge but lanky. Balta will probably take him overall.

Thank god. I was having a nightmarish feeling he’d be in ‘for structure’ .

Yeah King will do a few, not many. He averages .9 HOs for 2020.

Would have liked the Caddyshack in as well for Pickett. Caddy stands up in big games and kicks crucial goals.
