Changes V Big big sound Giants

He's due to do sweet FA against us seeing he does it pretty much against everyone else.
Got off the leash and kicked four in a half last time when we had Balta, then missed a heap of games injured. We're a bit stretched by three-tall setups. No 14 marks for Vlastuin this week.

Maybe Garthwaite could be a late in?

Love the fact that we’re sticking with the kids this week. It’s a big statement. Win or loose it’s the right decision for the future.

Interesting that they punted Briggs for Mummy. Nank had a big game against Flynn and Briggs in R9.

What chance Nank gets a hold of Mummy?

I'll be interested to see how Sproule goes this week. He was very effective in an ambush last week. Destroyed them mid game. We've had a look at him now. Might be a chance for CJ to shine with his tap work.

Greene is a big out for them. We look pretty well in here IMO.

Last time we played them we dominated pressure acts.
Pretty sure last time we played them a bloke called Dustin Martin had a fairly big say in proceedings.

At last, folks.

Tonight we know for sure if it has been hubris or decline.

You talking about the team - or your analysis and predictions!!

But anyway - as far as the team goes - I’m just happy to see us going in with Dow, Hugo, CCJ, MRJ (and obviously Stacky and Mansell too and even Parker)
And even if we weren’t to win tonight it could still be important if those blokes can really show something for us to look forward to for next year.

I rather have Brian Leys then Cathwaite

True, with dusty out and green out for them kind of cancels each other out.

The big difference tonight is these players didn't play last time around. Makes us a 3-4 goal better them.

Bolton, Edwards, Lambert and Prestia

The biggest change occurred against North when we finally decided we couldn’t continue to go long on every occasion, and meet the stand rule by zoning.
We went short to unmarked players and made room for forwards to lead to the ball. Played like Geelong.
Previously preferred players who can’t kick accurately
have been overlooked.

They are still scarred by ‘19 and will fight it out.
They are fast. Great game on offer.
Us by 7.

Far too easy for us all to fall into black and white assessments of a situation. Perhaps a more nuanced view should be favoured. Many transformative moves are occurring which are not in full view., and Dimma is at his best when in a dogfight

Changes from last time we met:
Us:
In: Cotchin, Bolton, Edwards, Lambert, Prestia, Coleman-Jones, Parker, MoJu, Stack, Dow.
Out: Martin, Balta, Broad, Houli, McIntosh, RCD, Aarts, Castagna, Naish, Ross.

Notwithstanding the massive losses of Dusty and Balta in particular, the ins outweigh the outs. Considerably.

Them:
In: Haynes, Kennedy, Mumford, Sproule, D e B o e r, Idun, Peatling, Stein.
Out: Greene, Green, Hill, Riccardi, Buntine, Flynn, Briggs, Buckley.

Close. Slightly weaker this time maybe.

Agreed, L2. This is where we've lost personnel.

Our tall backs last meeting were Vlastuin, Astbury, Balta and Broad. Balta (touched up).

We faced Himmelbusch (flogged), Greene (largely forced up the ground but 17 touches for 1.1 and 7 score involvements), Riccardi (17 disposals for 1 score involvement - useless) and often one of Flynn or Briggs, (0 goals).

Tonight we face Hogan, Himmelberg, and one of Sproule or Mumford. Greene is a big out for them. No Hill.

Bachar is out (21 disp, 2 SI, 200MG). He's replaced by the emerging Rioli and the all-new Stack.

If we had continuity in the new personnel we could be certain of an improved showing. But the situation is still unstable. Likely big improvement IMO.

Surprisingly, they will miss Battler Buntine. He was busy again last week, kicks a goal and brings very real heat. Bruhn and Ash to bring heat in the middle and probably forward. Their forwards will have to defend at ground level. We'll be getting off them.
