Changes v Bombers

Just an aside as trying to put a square peg into a hole just does not work. Big week for our proud Indigenous players who all want to fit the square hole so if Pickett is ruled out maybe MC can fit them all in.

Do we bring Dow in and move Short to the wing? Dow is classes better than Ross at everything except running in a straight line. Probably not.

In: Gibcus, Edwards, Cumberland
Out: Balta, Pickett, George

Dimma praised Biggie and George at the press conference.
No way either is dropped.
In fact, George's desperate smother set up the match-winning goal versus the Hawks.
Noticed that Pickett laid a couple of hits in the game, playing on the edge.
In: Gibsy, Shedsy.
Out: Balta, Pickett.

Think this “match winning goal” thing is getting a bit too much air play. He did try his best to stuff it up but was lucky enough to get a second go at it. Well played but he’s no Sam Lloyd

Georgieboy's second half was better, and he did get the sealer. Typical George, great effort and smother, then a crap kick after he was tackled... but he made amends. Stays in.

Cmon DA. That was a fantastic goal. Created it himself with the smother. Not many can run the K's he does and still have that energy 30 mins into the last.

It's where the young small/medium forwards needs to get to before they are even in the conversation to replace him.

And say what you want about his skills, but he is excellent across his body for goal - on either foot.

Had an excellent second half did the little bull.

After so much speculation over George just have a sense that after Sheds unexpected omission last week that this week we will see George back to sub.
In Edwards Gibcus
Out Balta and George.
If MP misses probably Hugo but would love to see the opportunity offered to Stacky, to start with a dance and then take a wing.

Despite receiving instruction over 5-6 years George can’t be counted as anywhere near a reliable kick on either foot.
Can’t handball on his left and not a reliable tackler.
He runs and he can mark but is an unreliable performer otherwise.
We picked up some very handy and well skilled potential replacements in last years draft. A 3 time premiership player from our rookie list who has done extremely well.

But not in Higgins class and should be traded while he still has some value.

Excellent second half?
I’d hate to see him have a quiet one.
I’m starting to wonder whether you’re related to George. And Zips

Amen.
The only replacement for George I see in the reserves is Juddy Clarke. He is the upgrade we are looking for. But he is still 2 years away.

Nah just not blinded by the good that he does and what he brings to our team.

Seems like it's just Smoking, sometimes Spooker, Leysy and the coaching staff that can see it.

And yeah Zips is Leysy's old man.

I've been on the george bandwagon from the start LD and defended him countless times from the marauding hordes on here.

As you suggest, not many better at the snap than george. He never misses when we really need it.
