Can anyone who went to the game give an objective comment on Mansell's game as a defensive forward?
Cant you just post it here as well?Only if you want my answer to your question.
Conspiracy I was told today was Dimma compared Dusty/Cumberland when really it’s either Jack or Cumberland and Dimma will run Jack until the wheels fall off before dropping himWhat’s this Hooch crap about Cumbo plays same position as Martin
so instead of Cumbo playing we prefer to penalise ourselves and play someone who’s not AFL level (Mansel)
It’s stupidity at its finest
Saad's output was down, in the first half Docherty just doing hack/dump kicks out of the backline for the greatest part. So we could set up across the midfield and get the ball back in. All forwards contributed but Mansell played his role, held his width and help prevent easy exits. In the 3rd quarter, when we dominated, the level of dump kicks by the Blues was very noticeable. For mine he stays. He's shown he can play to team rules. It's been noticeable all summer that he has accepted a role and will play it. @caesar and I will continue to debate this. Can anyone who went to the game give an objective comment on Mansell's game as a defensive forward?
It’s a fair question - if he had a job on Saad then he did his job.Can anyone who went to the game give an objective comment on Mansell's game as a defensive forward?
It sounds like he played his role on Thursday night. I couldn't tell from watching on TV. Maybe Mansell's selection will depend on the running capacity of our opposition's defensive set up. He did seem to have space a couple of times, but he never called for the ball, just sort of stuck his hand up, and jogged around.TBH I barely even noticed him at the ground. Not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing. Ie. offensively he didn't get involved much (other than that last passage of play), but maybe he wasn't noticeable as he was keeping others busy and away from the footy, but he wasn't noticeable at the ground.

May be a confidence/learning the role thing.
