Smith and Warner coming back won't change the leadership void though, thus the requirement for Tim.

Neither will be captain of their country again.
I reckon Smith will.

On Paine's average and scores. Not outs boost your average for a reason.

Who's to know what his final score when unbeaten on 28, 38 or 49 would have been.
Understand that, mate, but three 50s in 12 Tests and nothing over 62 is not enough.

Eke out another 40 and the pressure goes back on the Indians. Potentially a great finish coming up.
The pressure will not be on India unless we get within 50 runs of the target.

Typical Marsh dismissal.

Probably, but watching a side scratch it out against the odds is Test cricket at its best. I remember tuning in for Border and Thommo, hoping for a miracle, and it almost came.

Yeah I like Paddy's efforts.

Unchanged. You watch.

Who should is another question.

Finch and Handscomb the obvious outs, but there's not many knocking the door down for their spots.

Mitch Marsh made 11 today, he must be in the frame.

I’d hope they’d give a kid who has shown he will attempt to defend his wicket in Renshaw another go, Finch is just a horrendous choice

Great effort by our bowlers with the bat in hand.

If our batsmen could actually bat we'd be half a chance ::)

Don't disagree, but he's made no runs this summer, apart from 300 odd in grade cricket.
7 lefties against Ashwin was a lose-lose as well.

Why Handscomb? Why bring him in for one test and then dump him? Same with Finch.

First five wickets put on 235, bottom five 291.

Outscored by 15 in the first innings and 16 in the second... sort of encouraging to get close after losing the toss but ultimately a disappointing result. We might not get a better look.

If we win the toss, we'll win in Perth.
