I don't like Kohli, I think he's an arrogant, smug "smile" & it has nothing to do with who he plays for. Even if he played for Australia I wouldn't like him, just as I don't like Warner, I hope quite frankly that he never plays for us again. He can dish out the sledges, but squeals like a stuck pig when someone does it back to him, he's the epitome of why the Aussies are regarded in such a poor light.

Says it all really.

At least one of them took their sunglasses off to shake hands!

Spot on. We have been head and shoulders the worst behaved in the world for decades.

I admire Kohli for not meekly accepting it.

Meekly accepting what? After the outcry from Warner and Smith we want to get away from that image, the fact is in this test India/Kohli were the instigators, here's an article from Sunil Gavasker criticising Kohli for that: https://www.indiatoday.in/amp/sports/cricket/story/virat-kohli-tim-paine-sledging-sunil-gavaskar-india-vs-australia-2nd-test-day-4-1411397-2018-12-17

And nothing the Australians said was out of line anyway it was just banter, not abusive sledging.

I thought Paine a little unfair today. Lyon had 3for needing 2 more wickets for a 10 wicket match wasn't like we were going to lose bit like declaring when a batsman is on 90no.

Ian, I wasn’t talking about this test, I was referring to the past 40 years or so

Seems to me you don’t even know what you’re referring to.

I know what lukey is referring to. Crystal clear.

Rapt with the win. No flies on our bowling attack.

Only need to read cricket bios dating back to my hero (Vivvy) to know how we have behaved...

And yes, our bowlers are all from the top shelf.

Handscomb retains his spot for the Boxing Day test squad. Good decision even though his scores don’t warrant retention. We will need to “stick fat” (as Spud used to say) with some players through this transitional time.

And if we can stick fat with Shaun Marsh ( last 14 test scores are 24, 1, 26, 0, 16, 7, 7, 0, 3, 4, 2, 60, 45, 5 @ 14 ) then we can stick fat with Handscomb (last 9 test scores are 14, 36, 12, 0, 24, 34, 14, 7, 13 @ 17.

Having watched Handscomb, he must move forward in his stance, that way if he gets hit on the pads there is more of a chance that the ball might go over the stumps. he's a sitting duck at the moment.

Mitch Marsh's record wouldn't be any better than his brother or Handscomb but i think he'll come in for Handscomb to give the bowlers a bit of a spell, they've had a big workload.

Surprised they haven't given Renshaw or Burns a shot (*). Understand Renshaw is low on runs but has a solid technique.

** statement being made from behind my computer having not watched either bat for a while.... ;D

Despite the obvious question marks over his technique, I hope Handscomb is given another chance on his home deck if the alternative is Mitch Marsh.

I know he's not in the 13 man squad and he rolled his ankle in the last shield game, but i'd much rather Stoinis than M Marsh.

Neither Stoinis nor Marsh are Test quality all-rounders. Pattinson and Agar are much better chances of being the true all-rounder we crave. Patto is probably not ready to bowl yet and needs more exposure as a batsman. They have totally *smile* Agar around to the point he took a break from the last Shield game.

I would bring in Maxwell for Handscomb.

There is clearly something about Head that they like, to be made captain of SA at such a young age and to get such a golden run of opportunities at international level. He's a fighter but a limited player. India's pacemen exposed him in Perth- they were too quick for him, hurried him up a number of times and his dismissals in both Tests show he can't handle the quick stuff.

Agree on Handscomb. Terrible footwork will get exposed every time against quality pace. Bowl full and straight and watch him struggle. Impossible to generate any power hitting down the ground with that setup. He is a very good fielder but you can't get a game based on that. Maxwell a very good fielder and likely to do better with the bat. As is Stoinis. Would rather either of them than Mitch Marsh.

Surely if S Marsh or Handscomb or both play and fail that is it for now?
