Haven’t followed Shield cricket to closely but would be inclined to look for an opener drop Handscombe and move Finch down the order.
Joe Burns would be the guy for that. If his surname was Marsh he'd alreadty be in the side.

Pretty flat dead looking track
Yep. I can't recall the MCG ever producing a good all-round pitch in 35+ years of watching Test cricket. No bounce or movement in the first session is pathetic.

A good spell so far from Cummins, bending his back, getting a bit out of the pitch that will get harder and more bouncier.

At the ‘G’, only bowler to extract anything is Cummins. Pathetic wicket, amazing that they haven’t changed their pitch prep after last years effort.

Another *smile* wicket in Melbourne. Yeah let's put some grass on there and say it's better. You could tell in the first over it was the same old same.

Melbourne Test Crowds are the biggest equals most cash equals sh!t flat wicket to allow for 5 days of patronage and $$.

Well, that was one of the more boring Boxing Day test day 1 for a while. Even last years day 1 was more interesting.

Exactly! The MCC haven't learnt. Questions about the pitch curator should start, but lets wait until day 5

Lose the toss, take two wickets in a full day and have to back up in 36 degrees tomorrow. Just about a series-killer.
Appalling pitch. What did the curator learn from last year?
