Cricket

IF I ever go to test cricket again I hope it's not as boring as it was today.

That pitch is a joke, I really hope the "new" curator pulls his digit out & produces a pitch that is a worthy of the occasion next year.

IF not he should flicked.

A bit more happened today than yesterday. A few kept low, but seeing a bloke on 100 get bowled by a gosunder on Day 2 isn't classic cricket. Actually felt sorry for Pujara, the look on his face was priceless.

This one's a chance to fall apart late, which they expected in the last Shield game but didn't eventuate.

tipping the pitch will suddenly look lively now

No, it’s a crap wicket and a draw almost guaranteed. Perth is a drop in pitch too surely not that hard to get a good wicket that way?

The new ball shows a little bit aust will get 400 odd and it will be an uneventful draw. At least it will put it all in Sydney.

Finch out cheaply. Haven't seen this morning's play but he looked all at sea last night against the swinging new ball (how did the Indian bowlers get it to swing where ours couldn't?).

As much as I like Finch I don't think he is quite up to Test level.

Yeah, he,ll need to get a big 2nd innings dig to save his spot.

Harris out. He gets starts but hasn't yet been able to go on and get a big score.

Disappointing from both he and Finch.

Yes, Harris needs to put away the hook shot, at the least early in his innings. Finch is not a test opener.

We'll be stoked with a draw. The way our batsmen are playing India may enforce the follow on and win by an innings inside 4 days.

Very disappointing by our batsmen so far.

Maybe S.Marsh can open. At 35, he’s coming to the end of his career, and his average as a Test opener is better than his career average.

Yeah, not a bad idea, he is very iffy early but once he gets in he goes on with it.

Smarsh out lbw last ball before lunch for 19. Ffs how much longer do we have to put up with bloke? 35 years of age, still hast established himself as a test player after 8 years, so inconsistent, averages 35.

But no doubt he,ll tech out a second innings 50 to save his spot for Sydney.

Shaun Marsh last 15 test scores are 24, 1, 26, 0, 16, 7, 7, 0, 3, 4, 2, 60, 45, 5 & 19 @ 14.6. Enough.

That's why I suggested he open. It's not about the development of Marsh anymore, but easing in players for the future.

I get the view that without Smith & Warner, he's pretty much the anchorman; if he goes cheaply it exposes the less experienced players and increases the risk of the innings falling over completely. But he's only averaging 26 this series so we don't have much to lose, especially if we drop this match.

I think it says a lot about how talentless this era is , we have a very good bowling line up, however it’s far from a great one . To not have an Australian men’s team ranked in the top 4 in any format is a bloody disgrace starting with administration all the way down to junior coaches. Ffs we are not playing a sport against country’s who dominate world sports, we are competing against 3rd world nations . Australian cricket is diabolical

Yeah, it is a low point of talent. Reminds me of the 77/78 Packer years and the 84/85 South African rebel tour years. The upside is it gives people who wouldn’t get an opportunity an opportunity ie Paine last year, Harris, Finch, Head, Labuschagne. Some will succeed and some will be Shaun Marsh.....

5-97 ::)

Every batsman has got a start and not one of them has gone on with it. Pretty poor effort from all of them.
