Cricket

I blame the selectors for Finch’s poor OD form. He was batted in tests out of position but it’s almost comical that they won’t play Wade as a batsman because he bats at six for Tasmania. Also why do we insist on bowling Siddle at the death he is not nor has he ever been a death bowler.

That innings of the Perth Scorchers was what T20 cricket is meant to be. Good to watch.

Hurricanes needed 16 off the last over against the Scorchers, Faulkner who had been swinging like a rusty, wrapped it up in 3 balls, 6,4,6.

Not that anyone with 7 only saw it....Titanic was the offering last night.

Tonight when it's Melb v Melb we are served up the Peanuts movie.

Cricket Australia... Making AFL HQ look good.

Stoinis continues to but his name in front of the test selectors, 70 runs and 3 wickets for the Stars yesterday. He has plenty of X factor with a pretty good batting technique, the selectors could do a lot worse.

Kurtis Patterson has been added to the test squad to play SL after his dual N.O tons against them for the CA XI.

Fancy picking a bloke making runs. This flies in the face of selection policy all summer.

I don't think getting runs has got anything to do with it, he's a just a really good bloke, which is Langer's selection criteria.

Was Renshaw removed?

I don't think BBL form should be a factor in test selections.

I don't mind his selection but the method just shows how slap dash our selection processes are.

Yeah, was just about to post the same thing. On of their selection policies seems to be

Chairman of selectors:“So, who’s cool this week?”

Selector: “Well, Jhye Richardson got Kohli out in a couple of meaningless one dayers”

COS: “Ok, he’s in the test squad”

Selector: “And Kurtis Patterson scored 2 tons this week”

COS: “ Did we pick him in the squad last week?”

Selector “No”

COS: “Well we’d better add him in too”

Selector: “And Burns and Renshaw had stinkers this week, do we drop them from the squad?”

COS: “No, we don’t want to look inconsistent “

It's not just BBL form, Stoinis has played in 4 shield games this season with scores of 80,81, and 85. He's an ok bowler. M Marsh has been given plenty of chances, can't see why Stoinis shouldn't be given a go.

Don't mind Richardson coming in, he's at least young, and sharpish.
Can't see any point persisting with Peter Siddle, love him and his effort, but international cricket has moved past him.

I'm with you biggy, love Sidds but it was a really mystifying selection.

Agreed. I almost never watch footy on 7, and it’s the same with the cricket now.

Wouldn't matter how bad fox cricket was it would still be better than the blank screen on 7 for ODI and several BBL games.
