Just not good enough from the umpires.

Short's looking very iffy, he just needs to get through the next 30 minutes or so. A crucial partnership this one with Pattinson coming in next at 7.

I thought the final dramatically favored the top team. Any idea why we’re playing so many bowlers?

One reason might be that coach McDonald didn't want to drop Siddle or any of the other quicks.

Also the days of preparing a road for the final are over, Cricket Australia have brought bonus points for the Shield Final.

If the match is drawn, provided 270 overs are played, bonus points will determine the winner. Under the new system, teams will be awarded 0.01 bonus points for every run scored above 200 in the first 100 overs of each innings, and 0.1 points for each wicket within those 100 overs.

Thanks. So Vics could win outright, but lose?

No, if the Vics win outright that means they've won.

If after 5 days there is no result, the match will be decided by which team has accumulated the most bonus points.

The Vics all out for 289, NSW 2/8. The ball is doing a lot more with the different weather conditions today.
As Billy Lawry would say it's all happening, the Vics are appealing just about every ball.

It’s just manic, every ball is an appeal, a stifled appeal, a play and miss, an edge through slips.

Just wandered around junction oval watching the Vics turn the screws. Interested to see James Sutherland hanging around, chatting with spectators. I guess he would still have plenty of friends in cricket, despite his fall from grace.

The Aussies having plenty of luck, Maxwell dropped twice and bowled off a no ball. Carey had a shot deflected high in the air off the bowler, called for the single, was out of his ground, but the bails didn't budge.
Maxwell run out for 98, Aust 7/277 after their 50 overs, and i'm going to hit the farter.

Langer had to be dragged kicking and screaming, but he's a believer now.

And that’s another shield win for the Vics!

Nsw went from 1/132 to all out 210!

After going from 3/88 to all out for 121 in their first innings. There's nothing better than giving those smug cockroaches a good old fashioned arse kicking.

First time in my life I've watched the IPL. Must say the commentators are completely over the top, surely they must have been instructed by the BCCI to be nothing but 100% enthusiastic. Some absolute dribbling nonsense being spoken (yelled).

They act like this is really important memorable stuff.

If Pattinson is not on the ashes tour there is something wrong. Scarily good, swinging and seeming both ways at 145kmh plus

Playing a bit of County cricket ahead of time trying to harden up for longer spells/shorter recovery time. Obviously, there's some sort of risk but if he comes through, watch out.
