Probably leave him in for the last Test and hope he clicks. Smith has covered for him so far. Then back to Shield and challenge him to get some runs there before he returns.
But if they decide to try Khawaja as an opener again he can't complain.
Why? It’s like batting one short. He’s averaging 5 this series!
Only on the basis that he's more likely to score a hundred than any of the alternatives on tour.
And he’s out for 6. It’s embarrassing watching our top order (bar Smith and Labuschagne)

These are hardly classic Ashes lineups, but they've produced an entertaining series.
Yes it hurt that lose, if the weather holds up i'm fairly confident though, because we've got Starc in this test. He would have to be the best bowler to tailenders in test cricket.
