I actually recorded the program on Fox so I can confirm it did occur despite your recollection. But to confirm part of your recollection he did not voice any dissent but pulled a sour face.
If he pulled a sour face then he must be totally against any young player needing development then. As i said he is the coach and there is no way that was the first time he had heard of Menadue and what level he was at physically.

You are using one look on his face to make assumptions. The strategy to get young underdeveloped talent continued this year, do you think that happens without any involvement of the coach ?

Agree, i have watched it a number of times and i saw a face of questioning/surprise and then a nod based on their FJ & Blairs recommendation...

Also theirs a fine line in list management (one i don't claim to know or be an expert), but considering we have recruited 18 players and only a handful are not kids, we have a huge amount in development stage, this generally can be argued works against us as its generally accepted you need 50+ game players across the board to start to contend with perhaps a couple of young guns... To have over 30% of list in that bracket is top heavy for a top 4 team and if we pull it off and develop these kids we are in a fantastic position going forward!

I assume thats RFC list... thanks Rancey18

Wow- thats 24 players under 50 games and 19 over 50 games...
Yep thats our list for next season. More than half the list under 50 games!

For all you Dimmaphiles who are making excuses for him if he underperforms this season suggesting that he should get an extension regardless.

Instead of making excuses for him why don't you have the confidence to back him all in?

Our list is the best its been since 2001 our depth is probably the best since 1982 and Hardwick has a range of players with different skills to add to the team as required from players 23 to 36. (the ruck division excluded)

Hardwick is genuinely excited about our list, one only has to watch him announce our new players, talk about our list and his body language and positive comments suggest he is looking forward to the battle next season.

I believe that Hardwick has learnt from his mistakes and will take us to a prelim in season 2016 and have put my hard earned on us to make the eight and make the four over a month ago.

But if Hardwick can't deliver this next season with the players at his disposal it is time to look elsewhere.

Sorry y&b to suggest we have the best depth we have had since 1982 can't be correct with only 19 players playing above 50 games, depth in footy is generally spoken about the Matt Thomas types that have played 50+ games and are ready made to step in as he did last season and perform..

Kids with heaps of talent yet to debut i don't consider depth really, they will hopefully push through and improve our list enormously, but i wouldn't call the kids depth...

I am genuinely excited to see these 24 kids with less than 50 games in both AFL & VFL in 2016, if you call that making excuses off you go, it is a fact though not an excuse! In spite of this i still have great hopes for 2016!

C’mon TT, Leysy has already shown you your excuse about depth is factually incorrect.

We have 21 players with over 50 games experience. The 5th highest in the AFL. If we fail this year, depth or experience WILL NOT be a factor. We are at the upper echelon of both.

There can be no excuses from Hardwick, Benny or supporters this year. Our time is now.

As an aside Sydney could be the side to tumble next year. They only have 15 players above that threshold placing them 17th.

I don't know about depth, we will see how it pans out with many of inexperienced players in terms of their ability to provide it. I suspect that we may have the most raw talent we have had on our list for a long time however.

The numbers may look good in terms of games played, age etc. but its the quality of the players behind the numbers that is the most important factor.

Not sure the quality across the park is good enough.

So what you are suggesting Toby is that we should start sacking some of our recruiting dept. as they have had 7 drafts under Hardwick to restock our list and haven't done a good job?

I for one believe that our recruiting Dept. have done very well and we do have the players to go deep into Sept.

The great thing about footy is that you cannot completely stifle natural flair. Not even Damien Hardwick.

Make no mistake Tobes, our list is pregnant with glitter.

Bursting at the seams.

The recruiting staff have said a big *smile* you to Hardwick and gone to candy land to recruit over the last few years.

All we need is a game plan to release the silk.

.

Or possibly the Football Dept. works as a team and collectively decide on the type of recruits needed for a given year.

Time for a rebuild
I know you're taking the *smile*, but we have done a sneaky mini-rebuild over the past 2-3 years. Two years ago we had Tuck, Jackson, King, Petterd, Newman, Morris and Aadwards play in the elimination final. Foley, Stephenson, White, McGuane, Knights, Nahas, Arnot, Dea, Lonergan, McDonough and Helbig were also on the list. I'd say we're a lot more talented now, even if plenty of that talent is young.

Yep Jack Dyer medalist Jackson.
Yep, I was a big fan. Doesn't change my point about the mini-rebuild. In fact it's not even relevant to it. Nathan Foley should have a JDM too.
