Footy media , love’m or hate’ m ?

Yeah I noticed that too. Called danger the "best player in the game" when they were talking about his time in the forward line in the third quarter, then corrected himself and said one of the best two players in the game. Probably still not even correct
The other player being Petracca?

Being OS I watched through watchafl.com.au, they took the 7 feed but no ads during play. I assumed Foxtel would also provide the game in Australia?

Foxtel aren't allowed to show the game live, only replays. Its a specific rule for the GF.

If people don't want to pay they can watch the current service and put up with the ads.

I'm just saying I'd like to see the option to pay and maintain a continuous feed of the game, as we can with every single other match of the season, would be nice as well. When we talk finances, Foxtel pays about $100 million a year more than 7 does to broadcast games so I can't see the logic in them being cut from the Grand Final.

Because I haven't watched a game on free to air for many years as I've been at the Grand Finals, the intrusion of the ad breaks was really noticeable. They completely ruin the experience of watching the game and I'd be more than happy to pay to avoid it.
Agree - as a Foxtel viewer - I was stunned how intrusive the ads were to the flow of watching the game.

Agree, Foxtel do it so much better. The ads are a disaster for the flow of the game. Their analysis is better, commentators better. The coverage was average, the game was great.

I doubt Bruce could fit another “ the little master” in anywhere.
Unbelievably, 3,475,610 times in a couple hours. That was only during the game, not after.
* literal licence taken, I might have missed a couple*

You want to see some blatant biased commentary check out the NRL grand final. I never watch the game, but this is a whole new level of disgraceful

Ain't it what!

You'd think Penrith were 22 points up the way they are carrying on.

It’s dead set embarrassing , greatest player of all time scores a try in what they think his last game and they sound like there having teeth pulled , no idea why they want him commentating if they want to grow the game

They had some mathematical genius come on at half-time to explain that all Penrith had to do was score 23 points in the second half and not let Melbourne score.

Reminds me of Ian Chappel... "to win test cricket you have to (a) take wickets and (b) score runs

The production of the AFL on 7 was infuriating. That stupid spy cam at the bounce - couldn't see the ruck work which is about X, Y and Z axis. Spy cam turned it into x and y only.
And their stupid replays going on whilst the play was shown in the postage stamp in the corner - just dumb.
Lastly, I don't care which state it's played, I don't need to see footage of the ground and lights from 3km away, whilst someone is kicking the pig skin.

Was I alone, early in the last, in detecting a note of disappointment creeping in to the Channel 7 call, as we put them to the sword?

No, but to be fair, I think any impartial person would have thought we were in for a cracking last qtr.

Wasn't to be, we well and truely skewered them.

Yeah, for the neutrals you want a competition, but apart from Menegola they just rolled over.

I was still nervous but this game followed the same pattern as the previous two finals against them - just rolled over them after half-time, no pause, no mercy. They were done halfway through the third.

I was actually shocked this time. It was a Grandfinal after all. You could see 5 minutes in to the last they were both spent and very tense. Lost all confidence. No one wanted to really stand-up.

I dunno. I reckon the bulk of the impartials would have enjoyed the Dusty show. You were watching something truly special. Especially his last goal. You just know you will see that clip over and over for decades to come.

Yeah. That is what we do to sides now. We keep believing, they stop. We scored 11 out of 12 goals from turnovers last night - they lose it, we run forward in waves. Must be terrifying to be playing against that, knowing that you threw everything at us in the first half, but we just keep coming.
