Game Day Tigers V Dogs

Dimma let slip something very interesting in his presser.

'We came up here for 5 weeks and now its the rest of the season'

Either using season loosely

Or, we wont go west, Wet Toast will have had their allocation of home games (weve had 3?) By the end of this block and will come east

For a Gabba GF?

#anastasiapaluscgequeczar deserves the GF

He did say that but my take from his comment was they were hoping to return to Melb after about 5 weeks, now that’s not going to happen so they will be based in Qld for the rest of the season (unless Qld turns pear shaped which could happen)

Im pretty confident they"lle allow us to claim the 2020 premiership now.

If qld blows, they might go crowdless again but i reckon theylle play the games.

Tigers clearly love a crowd. Dusty and grimesy came over and gave us the most sincere acknowledgement after the game.

Jeez i love richmond fc and i am taking my role as a soldier in the north battalion very seriously.

Getting my max allocation every game (6) i can and introducing people to tigerland. They have to wear the colours and yell like *smile*. Theyre all embracing it.

Pretty wild to think we've gone from 4th on the ladder, to 9th, to 3rd (obviously we'll go down a few spots after other games this round) within a week mid-way through the season.

I reckon well finish 12:4:1 on top

Then dispatch WC and Brisbane

And humiliate GWS again in the GF

well that was one good night at the footy.
For those of us who can only see it on TV, can you please jot down a few points that explain what we were doing differently in terms of:
  • preventing or beating the flood
  • moving the ball more effectively
  • reducing the ability of the doggies to exit defence and move the ball the way they want to
  • our overall structure and positioning of individual players
  • anything else that showed how Beveridge was out-coached.

a collingwood acquaintance texted me and said

'richmond are like a medusa. you cut off Rances head, and Balta grows. you cut off prestias head and shai Bolton grows'

I liked that. Medusa.

Just doesn't seem right.

A collingwood fan that knows what a medusa is :peepwall

Totally outplayed the Dogs.
Our switching of the play a highlight and our pressure, wow. Dogs were under the pump.

Ive got to be honest celeb,

I struggled to understand the game last night. I was kind of just feeling the pure joy of marlion and dusty and the intellectual fell away.

But ill give it a crack in hindsight.

- we came to play from the bounce. True tiger mania pressure was there. Perhaps its that simple?
- bevo went the full buckley in the first but it vanished as soon as i saw it. It just dissolved. 30 blokes in our 50 and then they were gone. It was like the game was an etch-a-sketch in dimmas hands and he just swiped it clean? Dunno? Magic?
- its very noticeable how some players spread. Kmacs work rate is astounding. If you rule a diagonal line between where 50m line meets boundary line, kmac just 75% sprints that line all night, making a sort of half triangle game?? Again its a kind of magic.
- i think jake aarts is unimaginably important. Not sure why but he clears out of toms way and hits his contests in perfect time. He seems to be running on a traintrack thats obliquely perpendicular to toms
- dusty in untouchable beast mode makes us unstoppable - thats one of the simplest things in this universe
- marlion pickett is like if rudolf nureohoff and a non verbal conor mcgregor had a black child and they were appointed dustys body guard. This is superb chemistry that i hope someone makes a book that gets made into a documentary.
- i truly believe that dogs mids were intimidated by marlion dusty and cotch and bevo couldnt allay their fear.

Thats all i got. More like reciting a poem than reading from a textbook.

But it was that kind of game.

The pressure was obvious on the TV, we thrive on that and fail when we don't bring it.

Ball movement is much harder to see on TV but even on TV it was obvious we were concentrating on getting more quality delivery inside 50.

Not just an improvement in the way they played, but an improvement in the structure and tactics.

Also reckon bevo went to lynch centric in his defensive structure. I spose he had to. Tom wouldve kicked 7 if he didnt. He was double and triple teamed all night long and i spose dusty george and jake enjoyed the room?

Toms workrate was huge. Id like to see his gps. He seemed to spend a bit of time on the bench and ivan and mabs rotated with Tom through the bench.

In hindsight, this could be part of the code of our improved fwd efficiency?

Tom a bit of a decoy and the FF tall rotation. Mabior creates backmen disarray when hes down there.

Nice of you to say spook.

Marlion elicites one of the purest forms of joy ive ever experienced.

I had it once for example when an emerald dove flew beside my open car window at exactly my speed for about a kilometre.

He represents a footballer that i would create if i could create one from scratch, however i liked.

Graceful, strong, fast, durable, understated, selfless and tough.

I havnt felt this way about a footballer since i was 10 with maurice.

It is such a gift. I actually have tears in my eyes. I know im crazy, but so are all of us

He’s a pretty good midget wrangler. Did you see the way he immobilised Daniel with the expert midget restraint hold?
Yeah and I also saw a poor Dogs player head butt Ivan's very sharp knee when he was on the ground going for the ball. It was accidental but Ivan did some damage.
