They traded 25 to the Pies. They paid Stephens AND 25 for Henry. He'd better be as good as they think he is.
Looks at first pass the Cats have been bent over big time.

Henry doesn't fill an obvious need. And that's a hefty price to pay.

Also confirms Stephens as a draft failure.

Isn’t Cooper Stephens a Geelong local? Is he going back next year?

I think he is originally from Colac, and his old man now lives in Apollo Bay.

I spoke to his Dad 12 months ago and the family weren't happy with the way Cooper had been treated. I'm not surprised he has left.

Yeah sorry they did but what’s Cooper Stephens value ? Doesn’t look like much more than the original 25.

Not sure how good Stephens is (he's barely been played because of Geelongs strong midfield group) but was drafted at 16 so was clearly highly rated.

Always like the draft - the excitement of manoeuvring for this kid or that one, watching Sos stuff about. Always feel a bit jipped if we give away our early picks. Was hitting PRE to get a feel for PRE's mood re the GWS boys vs the picks given up. But seems to be a non-event. We neeeed top line mids and we have gotten them. Job done, suck it up nothing to see here, pats on the back all round. Not wrong of course this year it was no Prestia for RFC = no midfield. I curse you Tom Stewart. Forgiven, Not Forgotten. *smile* that. Not forgiven either.

If Hawthorn are paying a fair whack of his wages (and I suspect they are) then the Pies have done well with that trade. Hawks look to have bent over.
Wright confirmed Hawthorn are chipping in.

Geelong and Cwood look the winners to me. Hawthorn the losers.
